On tap at Summits. Pours a midnight black with creamy tan head. Cream lacing coats the glass all the way to the end. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, and dark chocolate. Tastes just like it smells roasted malts, coffee grinds, dark chocolate, and has a bit of an earthy dirt taste. Creamy and velvety smooth. A little thin though. Some dark fruits on the backbone. Bitter earthy finish. beernovice39 (3270) - Idaho, USA - FEB 24, 2013

Aroma of perfume and rich roasted malts... Deep black in color... Flavor is fairly mild, slight notes of roasted malts, Belgian yeast on finish... Not that impressive, decent BrewDad (5328) - Olympia, Washington, USA - JAN 5, 2013

Sample at Buckeye Beer Engine. This beer is a brownish-black color with a medium tan head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Roasted malt and hops in the nose. Medium body with a roasty character of chocolate malt and coffee, plus some dark fruit in the background. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall. rumproasts (5359) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - DEC 20, 2012
Tap. Black with small head. Pleasant stout. Light sweetness, but not particularly unique. Seems like an odd "milestone" beer, but that’s just me. BeerandBlues2 (13315) - Escondido, California, USA - NOV 27, 2012
