Bottle thanks to americanbrew. The smell is very chocolate, very nice, candy bar like, if you like chocolate you like this. The taste is more of the same with a nice bitter chocolate taste. The look is very dark black with a nice tan head.

October ‘09 O-Town Throwdown, courtesy of juiceisloose. Pours dark brown, insane thick mocha head, golden lacing. Aroma huge amount of chocolate and roasted malts. Flavor was similar to aroma, a whole mouthful of pure chocolate goodness. Plain chocolate bomb, felt as chewing chocolate. Fairly simple in concept, but thick and tasty. When Rogue said chocolate, they were serious.

Bottled. Intense chocolate aroma, all over the place huge, delicious but one dimensional. Full, rich, chocolate flavor; one can’t claim complexity at all like a good IS, but this is still incredibly tasty. They’ve really nailed the chocolate note in this. I’d love to see how this one ages.

joebudzjoe (676) - Connecticut, USA - OCT 20, 2009
@ Monster B’s. I love the sharp, fresh hop flavor and the strong dark chocolate notes, but I don’t taste a big difference between this and their regular chocolate stout.

( 22oz bottle, courtesy of BMan1113VR ) Pours an opaque dark brown body with a medium beige head. Aroma of rich chocolate, vanilla, and roasted grain. Flavor of chocolate, roasted malt, nuts, coffee, and grass hops. Good Impy.

Bottle thanks to americanbrews. Black with an espresso head. Nose is liquid chocolate and nothing else. Very nice on the palate with a great flavor of chocolate and a slightly roasted finish.

TheEpeeist (3709) - Media, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 4, 2009
12 oz bottle. Dark brown with a brief, lacy tan head. Incredible aroma of dark chocolate and cocoa. Full bodied with a bright citrus tang. Taste starts with bittersweet chocolate and lime zest. Gets hot fudgy, carob coming in then grassy with pine. Dry finish with some mocha. Dripping with chocolate goodness but you still know you’re drinking a beer.

triodes (7) - California, USA - OCT 2, 2009 does not count
One of Rogue’s best products. Reliable, well made, a real friend in need. One of best stouts in the nation, bar none.
