A: The pour is pretty much black in color with a small brown head that subsides to a thin ring around the glass. S: Both milk and dark chocolate aroma fills the nose instantly. A really nice creaminess to it and a mild roastiness. Some sweet vanilla and caramel underneath to round out what is a very rich nose. T: Sweet chocolate with an excellent creaminess, almost like a glass of chocolate milk. A mild bitterness from the roasted malt and some dark chocolate flavor. Toffee and caramel provide additional sweetness. M: Medium to full in body with a very smooth and creamy feel on the tongue. O: Despite a rather hefty ABV, this is a dangerously smooth beer that was very easy to drink.

UPDATED: FEB 4, 2011 Bottle shared by Homerwantsbeer. Pours a very dark brown color with a medium tan head that recedes steadily. Yummy chocolate and roasted malt aroma. Rich and smooth body with flavors of sweet milk chocolate, malt and marshmallows (thanks JaBier). The finish is chocolaty and sweet. Good beer that they should distribute here.

( 22oz bottle, courtesy of BMan1113VR ) Pours an opaque dark brown body with a medium beige head. Aroma of rich chocolate, vanilla, and roasted grain. Flavor of chocolate, roasted malt, nuts, coffee, and grass hops. Good Impy.

"Whoa...what a beer. Black/brown with a thin brown head. Takes everything good about Rogue Chocolate Stout, squares it, and gets rid of the watery mouthfeel (the weaker beer’s only shortfall). The aroma is mostly chocolate...tootsie rolls ...with some roasted malt detected underneath. The mouthfeel is big and creamy, which is quite nice. This is definitely a dessert beer...pretty sweet, although i bet there are high IBUs in there too. Just tasty. Roasted malt and a ton of chocolate. You can tell it’s got a backbone, but not that it’s 10%. Hard to get info on this it at the Rogue Alehouse in SF, brewed in Oregon, presumably for Ezo Beer in Japan, but even though is right on the bottle, this beer isn’t on there. Only 3 ratings on ratebeer and beeradvocate. Worth buying a few if you can find it...sadly i was loaded with beer so i got only one :("

Good, rich flavor, though a little too reliant on the chocolate. Looks nice, well-balanced, very easy drinking for 10%.

October ‘09 O-Town Throwdown, courtesy of juiceisloose. Pours dark brown, insane thick mocha head, golden lacing. Aroma huge amount of chocolate and roasted malts. Flavor was similar to aroma, a whole mouthful of pure chocolate goodness. Plain chocolate bomb, felt as chewing chocolate. Fairly simple in concept, but thick and tasty. When Rogue said chocolate, they were serious.

Deep black brown pour. Tan head. The nose is loaded with rich sweet milk chocolate. Loads of rich, sweet dark chocolate. Sweet and chewy but without any of the artificial sweetness that I get from ST Choklat. It’s actually a really 1-D beer, but that one dimension happens to be awesome.

UPDATED: OCT 10, 2013 Sample from a bottle shared by a kind soul at the 4/25 HOTD dock sale. Impenetrable dense black body with a small brown ring of a head. Intensely pungent fresh shaved bakers chocolate and pillowy cocoa. Rich and luscious texture, smooth, intensely decadent, malt-driven with a surprising and impressive fullness of body. Slightly chalky at times but not a detriment. The fresh semi-sweet semi-bitter dark chocolate quality is downright fantastic. This beer is legitimate.

2/24/12. 12oz bottle shared at RBWG 2012. Opaque black pour with a small brown ring of head. Bold, rich chocolate aroma that approaches tootsie roll territory. Sweet chocolate flavor as well that definitely remindsof tootsie rolls. I can’t say it’s bad, but... a bit weird.
