22. Pours a fairly hazy dark burnished coppery amber. Thick, sudsy, towering, surging off-white head. Very beautiful when it settles, even without very much lacing. Mild biscuit and pine nose, not much happening there. Creamy medium body, pleasant carb. Sweet pine, biscuit, and crackers on the mid-palate. Fairly neutral finish. Drinkable and sessionable and forgettable. spikester (606) - Salem, Oregon, USA - JAN 16, 2009
Dark amber with a one finger off white head and plenty of lacings. Aroma is piney hops.
Taste is piney resinous hops with a decent amount of sweet malts. Hops do dominate for sure. Some Rogue yeast funk. Palate is perfect carbonation with a bitter finish. Hops are not quite IPA level but close. A very bold APA for sure. Don’t know how sessionable this is due to no abv listed. BrewDad (5667) - Olympia, Washington, USA - JAN 1, 2009
22oz Bomber – Gravity Beer Market – Olympia, WA – Nice IPA flavor and aroma. Liked the beer as it developed quite well as it warmed up and was a great beer to drink for dinner. The IBU’s where there but not super strong to tear off your shoes. This will be interesting from year to year to taste how the hops develop. theisti (4237) - Kansas, USA - DEC 4, 2008
22 oz bomber from my Oregon hook up DA. Brewed with hops grown on Rogues hop farm. I am actually pretty excited to try this. Pour is hazed orange brown with an active 2 inch off white head. Nice lacing left behind as head retreats. Aroma is fresh resin hops and wet earth. Dusty smelling. Taste is resin bitterness. Grainy, malty, hoppy with a taste of the distinctive Rogue yeast in the finish. Taste is fresh and clean. Palate is thin to medium, a bit watery but certainly refreshing. Nice one. Thanks for sending this one my way Derek. robforbes (2278) - Bremerton, Washington, USA - DEC 3, 2008
pours a semi-clear copper with a medium size off-white head, very good lacing.
smell is faint, some hops, slight caramel, earthy.
taste is well balanced, hops, caramel, slight pine, the bitterness builds as you drink, end is nicely bitter.

Big bottle shared among five. Dark amber. Strong hop aroma. Rich hop flavour that is very tasty and has an interesting quality that I’d like to believe is from green hops. Beardface (1517) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - NOV 21, 2008
Swore I was going to drink this as my first beer when Ratebeer finally came back, but then my invite came while I was at a bar getting myself killed by birthday tequila on monday night and this is the first time I’ve really felt up to drinking again since then. Nice amber pour with a big pillow of a white head that fades very quickly with almost no lacing. Strange slightly funky smell with citrus and some apple juice and a just slightly astringent taste among those big fresh hops. Not a bad effort by any means, but not quite Hop Trip either. ajm (1072) - Los Angeles, California, USA - NOV 20, 2008
Bottle from WF Portland. Nice pour and color. Thought the smell was a bit piney and stale for a fresh hop, And though I was drinking it a bit warm, found it lacking on sweetness and young ’green’ plant flavors. 3fourths (9367) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - NOV 17, 2008
Draft at the Portland pub (bottles also available for sale). Clear dark honey colored body, still, with a very small film of a head. Wet vegetal musty hop nose, semi-sweet celery and parsley are picked up... subdued lime (without the citrus acidity and sharpness). Oily texture, medium to thin body. Clean but simple... resembles subdued harvest ale. 19Ei8hty (1166) - Washington, USA - NOV 17, 2008
I am not a big fan of anything Rogue puts out , however this fresh hop beer rates among the best of the genre I have sampled this year. Perfect malty base for foundation with light caramel notes. Wonderful hop lineup that are very floral and fresh giving off plenty of pine and light citrus without any vegetative problems. Very light astringency.
