COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogues proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

12oz bottle from Beer52.com. A hazy golden amber pour with a thin cream head; grainy aroma; smooth with a sweet caramel taste to start with some rye grain, then developing a sour bitterness give a clean crisp finish.

330ml bottle. Bb 2017/2. Thanks, Martin! Slightly hazy golden yellow colour. Thin line of white froth around the glass. Grainy, malty, caramelly, sweet aroma. Grainy, caramelly beginning. Caramel in the middle. Grainy, caramelly, slightly sweet finish. Slightly bitter, grainy aftertaste. Rather medium bodied, slightly oily, rather low carbonated brew. Not really my cup of tea, but still descent brew.

Obtained a bomber of Dead Guy Ale from a local Albertsons. Poured a orangey amber with a thin veil of light tan foam. Introducies itself with a scent of tropical fruit and pine. Malty opening taste with a touch of butterscotch perhaps and some bread too. A small bitterness, does not linger. All fine by me.

Pours clear amber with a medium frothy white head. Aromas of caramel, citrus, orange rinds, rye bread. Taste is malty and floral with some fruity notes. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium carbonation. Funny, I remember drinking this in my very early craft beer days and at the time thought it was quite extreme. Funny how my palate has changed. Still a very good beer mind you, just not challenging in any way anymore.
