Septemberfest. Sample from a bottle thanks to Butters. Light orange, whitish cover. Aroma is corn, husky, grainy. Taste is honey, corn, more grain husks, some caramel. Unpleasant. hopscotch (11422) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - OCT 1, 2009
Bottle… Clear golden lager with a mid-sized, fizzy, white head. Nice medium-roast malts in the nose – caramel and toffee – a bit lactic as well. Full-bodied and a touch oily with soft carbonation. Well-balanced flavor, but it still packs plenty of malty overtones. Finishes bland, then sort of fades away. iamqueensblvd (247) - , Iowa, USA - SEP 29, 2009
dark orange pour. bright white head that disappears quickly. beautiful malt aroma on the nose that ends up following with orange. Great Mouth feel. not the best tasting beer ever, but it has a clean finish. biznizness (1128) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - SEP 28, 2009
Not very good. Reminded me of a macro, just had that taste to it. It was refreshing though, I almost drank it like a glass of water. Maybe I was just thirsty. obguthr (6826) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - SEP 26, 2009
Yeasty aroma of barley malt and peat. There is a definite swampiness to it as well that I easily recognize from living in a marshy area. Immaculately clear orange, thick off-white head, some lacing. Tangy malt flavor with nothing in particular discernible. Clean throughout, relatively low IBUs Does not have the metallic qualities that are so often found in Maerzens, which I appreciate. No off flavors, but not terribly inspiring. Meh.

22oz bomber served in a shaker. Clear, dark golden pour with a two-finger thick head of off-white foam that hung around for a bit. Decent lacing. The aroma had toast, faint caramel, hay, and also some light grassiness. The flavor had caramel, bread, and lightly grassy hops. Fairly sweet and malty with a metallic hint. Medium-bodied. Very soft and smooth on the tongue. Light carbonation. Nothing to see here. Another run of the mill American Ofest. decaturstevo (6343) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - SEP 24, 2009
Gold with off white head and lace. Medium corn and a flat wheaty like aroma. Light corn along with very light sweet malt flavor. thin and a tad watery. hophead75 (2012) - Largo, Florida, USA - SEP 23, 2009
bottle....clear orange in color with a small to medium off white head. Aroma of light toasted malt, some light grain..not too much hops. Taste is light with some light toasted/munich malt, very light caramel, easy drinking. Didn’t get any tartness or any off flavors in my bottle. For a 4.2 % beer, not bad, but for a 5.99 22 oz bottle of Oktoberfest, probably wouldn’t buy it again. DocLock (11189) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 22, 2009
Bottle from Ron’s. Pours copper with 2-fingers of white, clingy head. Nose is grainy malt and hopcitrus. Taste is rather bland, more like BMC swill than a proper marzen, on the sweet side, with almost no hop presence. Boring and bland, pass on this one. Sampled on draft at the Rivertowne Pub this beer poured a hazy dark amber color with a medium sized white head. The aroma was sour, tart and vinegary. The flavor was tart, bitter, sour and had a cider vinegar element. The finish was long, tart and vinegary. There must have been something wrong with the keg for this one. Ugh.
