Pours a light orange/golden color with a small head and little to no lacing. The smell is rather light and mild with cereal grains coming through lightly. Ever so slight hop presence and a lightly mild malt backbone. The flavor is not too bad with the hops coming through ok and a nice caramel malt backdrop. bottled. Pours an orangey orange. Malt aroma. Caramel tastes with some sour notes. Mild hops. Good oobawa (1399) - Tennessee, USA - SEP 10, 2011
Although I’m not a big Oktoberfest guy, I do love a yearly pint or two of Maierfest, a solid entry into the style. Grainy, semisweet and fruity, with a definite swipe of pilsner malt, pretty and very easy to drink. No frills, but then again, none are needed. mansquito (6428) - Nueva York, New York, USA - SEP 7, 2011
Churchkey, DC 14oz tap ($7): Pours your standard American Oktoberfest look, somewhat amber with an off-white head. Aroma is caramel malts and whatever. Taste is too sweet. This upset me, because I wanted a good quaffable Oktoberfest. Additionally, I seldom complain about sweet beers. So I don’t know what was the problem. All in all, I think that this was a second tier offering from Rogue and certainly a second tier oktoberfest; gimme Hofbrau Munchen or Spaten over this any day. bth122 (1559) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 31, 2011
Poured a golden color. On draft at beernutz. Smaller head. Aroma of caramel malts and grains. Lite sweetness. Lite bitter. Slick texture. Smooth drinking, lighter octoberfest beer.

A fairly bland rogue beer. The pour is a golden straw with a light orange and thick foamy white head. The aroma is mostly grainy with a light german hops and some grass. Bland taste with a light grain and german taste. Overall, very boring beer. gsmitty80 (2130) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 22, 2011
This was a good German style Marzen. Very true to flavor and enjoyably easy drinking. Well done Rogue. topherh (1928) - Kearney, Missouri, USA - APR 26, 2011
Pours a slightly hazy golden with a white head. Aroma is sweet bready malt. Flavor is sweet malt, caramel, wet grain, light hoppy bitterness. Powertrip (1000) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - APR 5, 2011
Single bottle purchased on 04/05/2011. Colour: more orange than gold, slightly cloudy and low off-white head. Nose: Very metallic...but also extremely malty, and some root beer, dirty sock, warm and soggy vegetable. Not the best nose.... Taste: Medium sweet, light bitter, medium-light sour. Light chocolate brownie, fresh enriched white bread, turnip, oatmeal cookie late and just pure cookie dough on finish. All kinds of great stuff but never even close to overly sweet. Delicious stuff.. a complete 180 from the nose. A real mixed bag. DJMonarch (9179) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - APR 2, 2011

Floral hop aroma. Clear golden coloured and fruity with a banana flavour. A hint of dryness and bitterness in a malt finish.
