Pours a beautiful golden hue. Really pretty. Just enough head on it, laces the glass nicely. First hit is a wonderfully strong malt, seriously tastes exactly like dme smells, really nice. Warms to a mild spice/herb finish. Really great in my book rampmaster (642) - Alden, New York, USA - FEB 13, 2011
Presentation: It was poured from a brown 1 pint, 6oz bottle into a mug. The bottle has nice list of ingredients use including the malts and hops. The IBUs are listed at 29 but there is no ABV% or freshness date.
Appearance: It has a deep slightly orange golden color with lots of carbonation and a good two and a half finger tall head. The head is creamy white and quickly settles to just a thin covering. This thin cap still makes lots of sticky lacing on the glass.
Smell: The aroma has a firm bready and nutty character with a spicy/floral noble hop presence.
Taste/Palate: There is a good bit of deep bready and lightly roasted grain flavor with some good nutty notes and an excellent balance of spicy noble hopes. It finishes with mild hop bitterness and a clean biscuity dryness. The palate is spot on with a firm extremely drinkable medium body and lively carbonation.
Notes: To me this is an outstanding example of the style that really captures that German Lager essence. Maybe it’s the malt, maybe it’s the hops or maybe that Free Range Coastal Water they use but it works. Prost!!!

dark orange pour. bright white head that disappears quickly. beautiful malt aroma on the nose that ends up following with orange. Great Mouth feel. not the best tasting beer ever, but it has a clean finish. J_man (996) - Tustin, California, USA - AUG 19, 2010
Crystal clear and golden with a white frothy head. Definitely smells and tastes like a German lager. Rich, sweet and medium bodied with subdued earthy hops that sink into the tongue to balance the malt sweetness. It has a crispness like a Kolsch, but more substantial body and a heavier flavor. Very well executed for the style.

very tasty for a lager, medium bodied, pretty dark golden color, a nice lager sent to me by bro. inkubus27 (269) - highland, Indiana, USA - OCT 31, 2009
I don’t understand the low rating, this stuff is flat out delicious. A very well done oktoberfest, with plenty of the characteristic spice notes that come with the style. Very malty, no bitterness, has a medium to low mouthfeel... I could drink this all the time. superspak (5508) - Michigan, USA - NOV 28, 2012
22 ounce bottle into signature pint glass; no bottle dating, but this is likely to be over a year old. Pours hazy golden orange color with a small 1 finger foamy white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Minimal spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas of caramel, apple, pear, toast, biscuit, nuttiness, toffee, herbal, and light earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and decent strength; very pleasant. Taste of caramel, toast, pear, biscuit, apple, toffee, nuttiness, floral, herbal, and light earthy spiciness. Lingering notes of caramel, toast, light fruit, nuttiness, biscuit, toffee, and herbal spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance of flavors with good robustness; zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly creamy and very smooth mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with hardly any warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very nice Oktoberfest lager. Nice robustness with a good balance of toasty and nutty flavors with light fruitiness(which I prefer in the style); very smooth and fairly crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering. maniac (3800) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JAN 16, 2009
On tap at Capital Ale House - Downtown on 10/14/2008. Very clear golden amber body with a medium creamy off-white head. Sweet toasty, bready and slightly nutty aroma. Slightly grainy, bready and nutty flavor, with light toastiness. Medium light body with moderate carbonation.

Malty Aroma reminiscent of hay or straw. This beer pours a clear golden yellow color with a one inch foamy off-white head. The taste of pilsner malt come through with a zesty sweetness followed by a dry, but not overly hopped finish. Easy drinking german style lager.
