thanks to fiulijn for giving this beer a second time (I broke it the first time ...) - black coloured, little brown tainted foam, roasted aroma of black chocolate, mocha and nuts, medium to full-bodied, tart and very bitter, slightly oily, long dry roasted coffeish finish - delicious !

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color beer with a nice foamy head with great retention. Aroma of roasted malt is dominating and seems to leave little place to the coffee aroma that I was expecting. Taste is dominated by bitterness and roasted malt and again I find little of the coffee/chocolate taste I was expecting. Overall, not bad but I’m a bit disappointed by this one.

Almost black in color with a thick off-white head. Aroma is dominated by malts and chocolate. Dark chocolate flavor with some hops. Good porter.

Not much of a smell to speak of... Mostly alcohol with a hint of mocha. But wow is it beautiful. Pours thick dark brown with a massive bubbly coffee colored head. Chocolate porter taste is quite good, but the aftertaste is where it’s at. The coffee flavor really comes out, and sticks around for a long time. Not my favorite porter of all time, but probably top 10.

Deep black with a tan head. Choc, roast coffee (fresh), and caramel aroma. Coffee flavour all the way through. Quite dry, lots of fresh ground coffee though. Medium bodied, touch watery. Nice, but dissapointing.

Topped off with a huge, spongy, light brown head that lasted in a puffy film, this was an opaque dark brown with lovely deep red highlights... showcasing a murky microcosm of slow effervescence. Aromas started with a chewy chocolate toffee, turning to a pronounced smoke, dough and dark fruit nose. Flavor was nice and bitter from start to finish with a pleasant, vinous middle. Well-roasted coffee flavors and a spicy bite at the end. Syrupy mouthfeel with a dry finish. Awesome. I may have found a new favorite porter.

Great sleek and dark look. Smells immediatley of mocha or chocolate and coffee. Nice roasted malt taste that is thick and velvety smooth, that compliments the chocolatey coffe taste nicely. Great Porter.

(Bottled) Very dark brown color with a small, lacy and disappearing head. Roasted-malty, sweetish and milky aroma with smoothly bitter hops and lots of coffee. Very roasted-malty and ashy, dryish flavor. Medium to full-bodied, low-carbonated, creamy palate. A very nice, dry and hoppy, yet smooth and creamy porter.

Roasty chocolate smell. Dark, Dark brown. Bitter chocolate and slight hops. Body is full for a porter but lacks definition.

Looks just like I’m pouring a cup of coffee, except that it has a big, light brown head. Smells like fresh bread with a hint of chocolate. Tastes like burnt coffee with a bitter, roasted barley finish. Medium thickness that leaves a dry feeling in my mouth.
