Very roasty aromatics with coffee ground scents. Dark pitch black color with frothy head. Burnt coffee flavor is prominent, maybe a touch a dark chocolate as well. Fair amount of bitterness. Full body with a thick texture. Average carbonation with a long and bitter coffee aftertast. This beer is exactly as the name says. Good one.

Ruddy brown. Coffee aroma. Malty flavour with chocolate and light coffee. Moderately sweet taste, full but not strong, that finishes bitter. Full body. Overall, a good coffee porter.

Pours dark brown, almot black, with tan head. Aroma is coffee, dark chocolate and cocoa powder, some astringency as well. Flavour is dark chocolate, deep roasted coffee ground, nuts. Finish is dry and astringent. Nothing special but not bad at all.

Bottle at The Leeky Tap, Leek. A deep brown colour with a thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, brown sugar, some liquorice, a little gravy, a hint of wood, dark fruits, maybe grass and subtle spicy, earthy hops. Taste of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, brown sugar, some liquorice, slight unami, a little dark fruits, a hint of wood and subtle spicy, earthy hops. Medium bodied and moderate carbonation. A dry, chocolate, roasted bitterness in the finish. A wonderfully complex porter, a superb array of aromas and flavours. Quite dry and earthy for a porter thnough but otherwise impressed.

Czarne, pianę ma całkiem niezłą, ktra jednak po pewnym czasie degeneruje się do zera. Aromat nie jest szczeglnie intensywny - suszona śliwka, lekka kawowa paloność, odrobina karmelu. W smaku wybitnie kawowe, leciutko palone, niezbyt słodkie. Da się wyczuć rwnież ową śliwkę, o ktrej pisałem. Dosyć kremowe. Nisko nagazowane. Bardzo przyjemne i smaczne.

Bottle. Pours opaque black with medium white head. Aroma is fruity with apples, pears, grapes but also deep notes of gravy, soy sauce and coffee. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter. Body is creamy with fizzy carbonation. Finish is long and mostly bitter with notes of soy sauce, espresso, roasted sesame seeds and pumpkin seeds, but also some fruity notes. Nice complexity in good balance.

Bottle. Very dark brown, almost black, in colour with reddish tinge. Very malty; strong roast malt, burnt chocolate-mocha, coffee, caramel, toffee. Fruity; berries. Hoppy; citrusy and spicy hops; underlying hops give mildly bitter edge. Roast malty, fruity throughout with long bitter dry roasty finish. Very smooth. Very drinkable. Very nice porter! (2009-02)

Aromas of caramel, coffee, malts, spice and a slight coffee hint. Taste of fruit, nut and more malt with a chocolate finish. Yum.

BOTTLE 12 OZ. Almost black with clear ruby highlights, beige head. Roast grains over sticky molasses, dark bready malts and a pinch of grassy hops. Medium sweet taste - dark sugars and malts, followed by roasty and hoppy, somewhat musty bitterness. A little simplistic - sweet and roasty, but still... Not bad.

Bottle @ Kge ldag w senior & friends/the chef. Appearance: clear black with good beige soapy head and lacing. aroma/taste: caramel, chocolate, light coffee and some floral notes. palette: strong roasters malty aroma, average carbonation, medium body, medium sweetness, balanced by a medium bitterness, average to long duration and an oily texture. Overall: nice relative low ABV porter, but a bit more body wouldnt hurt.
