This is a very good porter. Nice roastiness - doesn’t go overboard into stout territory like many porters. Great balance of malt, roast and hops.

Pours pitch black but with some ruby reflections; two fingers thick cappuccino head. Coffee beans, light espresso, roasted malts, dark chocolate and some sweet creamy milk notes on the back of the aroma. Taste is balanced bitter, mocha coffee, roasted malts and dark chocolate, pretty much what you get in the nose but the roastiness is stronger. Nice bitter liquorice aftertaste. Light medium body but the carbonation gives the beer enough consistency to avoid being too watery. Easy to drink liters of this, should be sold in 50 cl bottle at least! Very nice porter.

Aroma sweet chocolate, chocolate milk. Taste chocolate milk, light coffee, light hops. Hoppy aftertaste. MF decent for 5.6 abv, lively carbonation. A bit too much chocolate milk for me.

Bottle 0.355L. Dark brown body with an average, frothy, tan head, mostly diminishing with some lacing, though. Moderate-to-heavy malty (roasted) aroma with notes of coffee, dark chocolate and light nuts. Moderate bitter and light-to-moderate sweet flavour; long-lasting coffee finish. Medium body with oily texture; soft carbonation. Good one!

Pours dark mahogany with thick, foamy head. Aroma is coffee and chocolate. Taste is bitter coffee, warming to slight chocolate. Finish in smooth, but uneventful. A so-so porter

Almost jet black colour with medium brown foam. Aromas sweet and silky of cocoa, chocolate with light toffee and malt notes. Palate, medium/light body with fairly thin texture leaving cocoa finish. Taste, bittersweet of cocoa and chocolate, maybe with a hint of some liquor. Overall, okay not too exciting, nice chocolaty but fairly plain and boring :(

Ritzn (2188) - GERMANY - DEC 23, 2017
Bottle says 5.3 abv. Black with medium brown head. Aroma is slight fish, smoke, deep dark chocolate, a hint of baked banana, a hint of bourbon, mocha, roast and vanilla. Also some dark honey and some pine cone, earth. Taste is sweet malt juice with medium viscosity. Medium roasty bitterness, at first a bit of a roasty sting, later a creamy and sweet finish. Medium body. Would prefer more intesnity. Low carbonation. Complex aroma but overall a bit thin. Might look out for the "double" version.
