2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Looks good, dark with a nice tan head. Unfortunately, the flavor wasn't as impressive. Very thin and lacking of any aroma or mocha flavor. Fortunately the hops did make a presense.
UPDATED: JAN 21, 2018 Mousse fine colorée. Nez : essentiellement sur le café. Robe noire. Je n’ai pas trouvé la noisette spécifiée dans les ingrédients , le café reste omniprésent, même si cela reste raisonnable. Bonne longueur en bouche. Une Porter agréable au final. Pours dark mahogany with thick, foamy head. Aroma is coffee and chocolate. Taste is bitter coffee, warming to slight chocolate. Finish in smooth, but uneventful. A so-so porter lokis333 (619) - Biržai, LITHUANIA - JAN 1, 2018
Almost jet black colour with medium brown foam. Aromas sweet and silky of cocoa, chocolate with light toffee and malt notes. Palate, medium/light body with fairly thin texture leaving cocoa finish. Taste, bittersweet of cocoa and chocolate, maybe with a hint of some liquor. Overall, okay not too exciting, nice chocolaty but fairly plain and boring :( Ritzn (1992) - GERMANY - DEC 23, 2017
Bottle says 5.3 abv. Black with medium brown head. Aroma is slight fish, smoke, deep dark chocolate, a hint of baked banana, a hint of bourbon, mocha, roast and vanilla. Also some dark honey and some pine cone, earth. Taste is sweet malt juice with medium viscosity. Medium roasty bitterness, at first a bit of a roasty sting, later a creamy and sweet finish. Medium body. Would prefer more intesnity. Low carbonation. Complex aroma but overall a bit thin. Might look out for the "double" version. Bottled. Deep brown to black. Opaque. Well-lacing head of beige. Aroma: coffee & roasted malts / barley. Restrained fruit esters. Light to medium body. Rather dry taste. Roast, coffee. Some hops. Good. Let someone guess: porter or stout? coil (180) - Reading, Berkshire, ENGLAND - NOV 10, 2017
330ml bottle from The Grumpy Goat, Reading. Black colour with light tan head. Big dark roasted malts, espresso, coffee beans, light mocha - more espresso than mocha, light dark chocolate. Bush_Docta (432) - - OCT 30, 2017
Dark brown with a thick, dense head and impressive lacing. The aroma is chocolate, cocoa, cappuccino and caramel. The taste is mainly chocolate and coffee, some roasted malts. Very tasty, nicely balanced between sweetness and roastiness. Medium to full body, very smooth, long coffee aftertaste. Very good. artyom (1229) - Osijek, CROATIA - OCT 30, 2017
0.355l bottle. Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, some chocolate and pronounced coffee character. Taste is roasty, and it is dominated by coffee. Overall it's nice and interesting porter. Fisler (791) - Bamberg, GERMANY - OCT 29, 2017
