3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Single bottle. Poured as dark as you’d expect, with a thin tan head that dissipated quickly but not quite entirely, hanging around to leave a few spots of suds on the glass. Noted a bit of sweet, malty aroma. Feels surprisingly thin and light in the mouth. Bitter but not hoppy, with chocolate as the dominant taste, followed by toasted nuts. Good but kind of ordinary, though perhaps my expectations for this were unrealistically high. Tastes almost burnt, honestly. I can think of a dozen porters off the top of my head I prefer, but that’s not to say Rogue Mocha Porter isn’t good or worth trying. Personally, I’m kind of glad I only bought one bottle in a mixed six pack.

Poured from 12oz bottle a very dark brown with a large head of foam that subsides after a w2hile leaving a nice solid layerwith lacing.
The smell is a nice mix of sweet caramel malt and coffee.
The taste is strong on the caramel, chocolate and coffee and they all hit you right up front. Tasty. The finish ends on the hoppy side with a nice bit of bitterness that yearns for another sip. Very smooth and it's a very good drinker. Yum.
Bottom line: A very tasty interpretation of an American Porter that has no apparent negative aspects. I recommend it.
Thanks to Wasatch for this sample! Holmen2 (3942) - NORWAY - OCT 2, 2017
Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 02.10.17. Almost ebony. Pale brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, tobacco and dark chocolate. Similar taste. Lingering aftertaste, with medium pine bitterness. tandembrauer (1577) - Stavanger, NORWAY - OCT 2, 2017

12floz bottle, no date, $2.25 as a single, pint glass. It has been about a decade since I last tried this beer, and it is much as I remembered it to be. Dark brown with a light layer of head. Brown sugar and licorice aromas noted. Robust is what this porter has going on, roasted bitterness of burnt caramelized toast and dark coffee grounds. This taste lasts a while afterwards, even though it is somewhat watery. I think I can pass on this for another decade. higgsbison (261) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - SEP 22, 2017
Smooth and creamy. Definite mocha notes. Well balanced but did not seem to be very complex for a Porter. It was much better warm, I did not care for it cold. A good beer, And I enjoyed it once it warmed up but there are much better porters out there

0,355 bottle. Well-balanced coffee porter, hopped enough. Malty body is really complex. Some caramel sweetness, some smoked malt in taste. Coffee in aftertaste. Nevalainen (825) - FINLAND - AUG 5, 2017
Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma of coffee, vanilla and malt. Taste is medium sweet, but palate is quite light. I would prefer it a bit stronger. In all a nice beer. jrh2254 (146) - burton-on-trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - JUL 21, 2017
From a beer hawk mystery case. Pours black with a nice white head. Taste burnt malt , sweet , but ok for a change. Typical porter.
