Pours dark brown color with a large off-white head. Aroma doesn’t feel very fresh, some cardboard, hay, some weird herbal notes, mild hops and fruits. Sweet cola on the flavor, lemon, some malts and grass, gooseberries on the background. Quite weird. Not really my thing.
Aroma: Rich malt, toasty, chocolate, dark sugar, dried dark fruits, molasses. grape. Light roasty.
Appearance: Dark amber, clear body. Large, light-brown, rocky head. Good retention, lacing.
Flavour: Medium dried fruits, raisins. Light roasty, burnt. Light grape. Medium bitterness, medium sweetness. Well balanced, Dry finish, lingering raisins and slight bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Medium body, Medium-high carbonation.
Overall: Very enjoyable! Can do with a bit more body to match the style, but the taste and aromas are amazing!

A nice black ale. Pours a deep black with a thick tan head. Smells of rice pudding and French toast with a bit of hops. Taste is quite crisp, with more rice cakes, chocolate malts and a slightly hoppy finish with a bit of a flour-like fizziness on your tongue. slowrunner77 (12044) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 4, 2014
