Clear medium amber brown color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, nutty - woody, coffee notes, moderate to light heavy yeasty, soap, cheese. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottled, labelled Morimoto Black Soba Ale. A deep red beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet with nots of alcohol, malt, caramel, and berries - especially black currant. Bottle. Pours a dark amber brown color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma. Sweetish malty weak roasted caramel flavor. Has a slightly roasted malty chocolate finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

Horse, Parsons Green, London. Rubyish brown, quite close to black colour with mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is toasted malts, some dark dry fruits, wood and ild spicy and leathery notes as well. Flavour is quite much roasted malts, dark dry fruits and some wooden notes as well. Also some leathery notes as it warms up a bit. Pleasantly balanced.

30th August 2008. Very dark brown clear ale. Smooth and creamy malt with a hint of chocolate. Smooth all the way to the very light toasty finish. Just a hint of hops in the aftertatse.
