3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Got the 750 ML bottle, like a smart-ass. Pours cloudy amber with a tanned head. Nose of pine, citrus, some fruit. Aroma of the same, with a hint of caramel. Enjoyable!
From old tasting notes. Cloudy brackish brown color. Creamy beige head. Interesting spicy Worcestershire sauce aroma. Tangy, bittersweet treacle malt flavor. Bittersweet malt/hop finish seems subdued. Long bitter aftertaste. SamVimes21 (488) - - JUN 17, 2017

Shared 2012, 750 ml. ceramic, swing-top bottle poured to a fest sampler showing a cloudy, brownish amber color, with modest, off white foam that rapidly reduced to a persistent ring, and light spots of lacing. The nose was some fruitiness as citrus & pit fruit, brown sugar, caramel, malt sweetness, and some ready alcohol. The taste was similar, medium+ bodied, with low carbonation, booze, and held onto a pronounced, earthy & rind-like bitterness. Decent BW. dnstone (3431) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - MAY 31, 2017

Avermelhada de média turbidez, espuma de média formação e persistência. Bastante malte e uva no aroma, leve lupulado. Paladar de médio dulçor e leve/médio amargor bem balanceado. Corpo licoroso e média carbonatação. Final tende a amargor açucarado, lúpulo sempre presente, uva em segundo plano. Muito boa. Melhor barley que já bebi. caramel, alcohol, raisin, cereal, amber-orange color, hazy, minimal head, heavy cloying sweetness, lightly bitter, full body, oily feel, thick feel, soft carbonation, long finish, koleminer20 (3704) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - JUL 17, 2016
750 mL bottle shared by ebone1988. 2013 vintage. The pour is a dirty light brown with some reddish hues shining through. There is a bubbly off white head that falls down to a thick collar leaving some pretty hefty lace. The aroma is interesting. There is a lot of bitterness. It’s got a metallic malt and a strong bitter fruit to it. The sweetness is definitely not there. I’m not looking forward to this. The flavor is awful. Resoundingly bitter with a hint of dark fruit. This fucking sucks. There is a bitter malt and it’s backed up by a metallic and fake bitter hop and just sits on the tongue. This is a hugely bitter piece of shit. The mouth feel is thin and light with a weird carbonation and a lingeringly bitter aftertaste. There is nothing good that comes from it, just bitterness. Fuck this. ebone1988 (1974) - Dearborn, Michigan, USA - JUL 17, 2016
Bottle shared with koleminer20, for the book. 2013 vintage. Aroma is hops, caramel malt, candy, citrus, bitter malt, standard barleywine procedure. Appearance is dark red brown, light brown head, hazy. Taste is bitter as fuck, malt, caramel, earthy hops, harsh. Mouthfeel is medium body, light carbonation, boozy earthy hops and caramel aftertaste. Overall, not good.
