Thuis uit een flesje, zwart van kleur, bruin schuim dat helaas wat snel verdwijnt. Lekkere volle geur en een goed smaak, niet teveel chocolade. Heerlijk.

Pours deep brown with slight glints of Burgundy. Smells sweet with a strong black coffee presence. I found it a decent enough, drinkable stout. The taste begins with some invitingly sweet chocolate and malty flavours. But this converts to a bitter finale, which left a slightly unpleasant aftertaste for me. I was surprised how strong the final hops flavour was, but it was a mono-flavour--not the citrus complexity you get with much lighter drinks. Here the thick mouthfeel of the stout did not quite gel with the slightly dull bitter taste that crawls over the whole back of the palate. However, it is a valid stout, which I found at least partly enjoyable.

Bottle, 355 ml, courtesy of JFK10000, shared with him and Max. Pours black with medium beige head. Roasted malts, coffee, watery and quite thin. Starts good, but falls apart afterwards, expected better.

Tastes and smells like the dark malts used in it, just like chewing on the roasted malts. Smooth, malty, almost like no hops or yeast were used. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
