UPDATED: AUG 18, 2008 Note: Fooled again by Rogue; this was for a bottle of Rogue Warrior Ale: It’s back. Bottle from Sondra. The blue band is red, and the rising sun is gone. The blue trim on the vest is now red - so it’s a two color label - three if you count white. Opaque brown color with a decent tan head. Smells of citrus hop, darker malt, and coffee? Medium plus body with chewy carbonation. Flavor is smooth toasted malt, deal of coffee, and arguably a bit of hop. Putting this in as an APA seems to have been ok in the beginning, but It’s a stout now. So I’m putting it in two places, and the admins can delete whichever rating they choose.

Bomber. Something of a mocha aroma. A nearly opaque brown color with a persevering tan head. Full bodied, moderately carbonated, nearly creamy. Starts with coffee, moves to near burnt malt. Sort of causes twinges in the mouth. There’s not a great deal of bitter, and the smooth finish is mostly toasted malt. It’s very good stout.

Cask at GBBF 2015. It pours near black with a small light tan head. The nose is soft, bitter-sweet, rich chocolate, coffee, fudge cake and icing sugar. The taste is rich, bitter-sweet, oily, cocoa, toasty, coffee grounds, earthy roast, mild acidity, umami and liquorice with a dry, toasty finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Works pretty well on cask. Smooth and easy-going, but not a whole lot to it. Pretty enjoyable anyhow.

Bottle as shown. Pours a very dark brown with a small frothy tan head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is roasted malt with chocolate and coffee. Decent spotty lacing on the glass. The taste is a sweet malt with chocholate and coffee. Easy to drink a good stout from Rogue.

Bomber poured an opaque black with a lasting brown head. Aromas of bitter chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and vanilla. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of milk chocolate, vanilla, light roastiness and light coffee with a smooth chocolatey finish.

A Black very classic stout. But not boring at all. A good coffee smell, rich roasted almost burned malt flavour. Nice bitter hop and burned malt finish. Just as we like it !!

Draft. This is good, but this is the first time I drank a beer and was thinking of a chocolate breakfast bar. Clearly a sweet stout with a great roasted coffee, chocolate and nut flavor. Good brew.
