UPDATED: DEC 12, 2009 Alright!
Time for beer and time for an american smoke ale again. Rouge have som kick ass beer like their imperial stout and imperial pale ale..
Amberish appearance.. its actually more watery then most smoke ales, soft, round taste with light smoke. and fruity coloration. Compared to the awesome left hand goosinator this is rather poor ;)
Draft Third of a Pint at GBBF 2011 (Day 5), Earlís Court, London Aug 2011 - Cloudy Orange-amber in colour. Subtle smoke aroma and flavour. Malty; roasty smokey malts, hints of roast cured ham, caramel. Hoppy; spicy and herbal hops. Medium sweet malty spicy flavour. Easy drinking. (2011-08-06)

My first go at a smoke beer. Poured at a local tavern. Appearance is dark, of course, with very little head. I smell the smoke, of course, and the first taste is the same. That comes with some coffee and a bit of chocolate. Also something earthy. Tobacco perhaps. Variety is good but Iíll take an imperial stout or porter over this. BB log, 12 oz Bottle, pours amber with one finger head. Smell and taste are heavy smoke, fire, spicy hops, grain, and malt. Im not a fan of smoked beers and this is way too much even for that style. Medium bodied. No thanks on this Rogue. hauxe (712) - Butzbach, Hesse, GERMANY - DEC 24, 2015
Rated from old notes. Generally a fan of smoked beers but this one did not do it for me. A flat, lifeless experience. Looks like heavy apple cider, smells like salami, tastes like a mistake. Gription79 (2886) - Bountiful, Utah, USA - AUG 14, 2015
Poured from a tiny little bottle, thanks to Mike. Very smokey, light malty sweetness, thin bodied, cardboard.

Bottle @ home. Thanks, Arturo. Old as hell nip bottle. Chunky dark amber pour with some brown and a bunch of floaters. No head. Smoke, ham, and caramel nose. A bunch of apple as well. Slight raisin sweetness on the tongue. A bunch of smoke, some savory qualities, nuts, and salt. No thanks. slowrunner77 (11917) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 16, 2014
"i ind of liked the smoke flavor, but donít think i particularly liked the beer behind it. just too harsh, and a little too bitter, with a nut flavor that didnít go well with the smoke. iíll pass."

Tastes like an IPA soaked smoked salmon fillet. Yes, it actually tastes like that, and I was okay with that. hotstuff (5141) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - NOV 10, 2013
Rated on 8-12-2009 (Bottle) This beer forms a medium sized fizzy tan head that mostly diminished, hazy amber body, fast rising carbonation, and very little lacing. The Aroma is malt, pine hops and smoke. The Taste is semi-sweet, pine hops, mildly smokey, and a very dry finish. The Palate is fizzy and this beer is medium bodied. Overall, this beer does not taste overly smokey which suits me just fine as I do not like overly smokey tasting beer. This beer is worth trying if one enjoys this beer style. merc7186 (3142) - North Tonawanda, New York, USA - OCT 19, 2013
A: Amber/Orangish Hue, Passes Some Light, Good White Head, Good Lacing
S: Smoked Ham
T: Liquid Smoke, Roasted Nuts
M: Decent Carbonation, Light to Medium Bodied, Smokey
Overall, a decent smoke ale but not much for taste beyond the smoke.
