How on earth could anyone pass up at least trying this? Bubble gum colored bottle advertising a "bacon maple smoked" ale? Well, I couldn’t pass it up. I will next time though. Definitely worth the try. Very smoked taste, very smokey. Rich maple syrup type taste. The bacon gets lost. There’s no way I would drink an entire bottle of this but its worth the try. A very complex beer.

Bottle. Thanks to Scott and Kesha! Poured a clear dark orange color. The head was a few fingers high and off white. Smelled as billed. Maple frosting, cake doughnut, and distinct smoked malt. Light to medium bodied and slightly sweet. Less sweet than I had expected from the nose. Pale smoked malt dominated the flavor, but the smoke was not Bambergian in magnitude. There were also maple and roasted pecan notes. Interplay between the smoke and maple created an almost cinnamon-like flavor into the finish. I always enjoy trying something new.

Well, obviously, I liked this more than most. Both the aroma and flavor start with maple, lots of it, and smoky undertones. Of course, as it warms, the smoke becomes a much bigger player. The finish is just a bit hoppy. It is sweet, but not overbearing. If it were available in Knoxville (and less than $13 a bottle), I’d consider buying again, if only for novelty value.

Intersting beer. Very strong mapple smell and a curious smoked bacon taste. Everyone have to taste it once, just once. Its not a beer that you will fill your refrigerator.

Picked this up at World Market in Florida for $12.99. Stuck it in the fridge and poured into a Mikasa Tulip glass.

A - Dark brownish red. Looks like a red maple syrup. 1-Finger off-tan head that barely subsides. Took 3 minutes to reduce head to a thin line.

S - Salty Maple? It’s very interesting. Sweet maple sap scent with a fruity finish.

T - Hmm. Up front it’s not bad. Starts with a sweet maple banana taste. The finish is totally a campfire. Semi-sweet then dry smoked taste with a bacon like finish. Tastes like charred Bacon. The start is so good but the finish is very weak.

M - 60% carbonation on the mouth swish. Very light body and disgusting finish.

O - I’m liking this beer but the finish is horendous. I have another bottle of this. Anyone want it?

Brutal beer...picked up in Dillon, Colorado. Great bottle, great concept, awful in reality. Acrid aroma is nearly all smoke, flavors are sloppy and a ribbon of metallic notes runs through the maple and liquid smoke beginning to end. Quick taste from everyone, then a quick drain pour followed it.

750 ml bottle. Pours slightly hazy orange with a medium beige head that lasts for a minute or two before collapsing into a blanket of foam. Aroma is as wicked as the description suggests: strong in maple syrup, bacon--it smells like a maple bar with a side of bacon, all of it drenched in maple syrup. It starts out pretty astringent, making me take my nose away from it at first sniff, but it starts to tame out and grow on me. This is definitely the weirdest beer I’ve ever put my nose into. The taste is just like the aroma. It’s mostly sweet but never cloying and it finishes a little tart. I wish the body was fuller; it has a bit of a watery mouthfeel. Definitely not for everyone. It’s definitely too weird and/or too "gimmicky" (I haven’t even read any of the other reviews for this yet, but I’m sure that word crops up quite a bit on here) for your average beer drinker or beer snob, but I like weird shit, and this is as weird as beer gets.

Terrible flavor and pale Budweiser color. Flavor is amazing - incredibly long lasting maple frosting flavor with slight bacon. I know I really want stouts right now. So delicious, I am freaking living this right now. The table won’t end!

750 ml bottle. Pours a hazy amber color with a huge fluffy off white head that lasts. The aroma is a strange combination of oak, smoke, maple cured bacon with heavy candy like sweetness. The flavor is pretty similar; smoked maple cured bacon, oak, some earthy notes and big candy like sweetness. This is a mess and I am glad that I had a few people to share this with or else it would have gone down the drain.

Countbeer (6599) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - JUL 1, 2012
Bottle @ZZT IV: I don’t like pink, but I love this bottle! Medium off white head which disappears quick and leaves a thin lacing on top (and bubbles on the side) of a deep hazy murky orange amber colored beer. Smell syrup, wood, oak, smoke, caramel, dusty smokey malts, guess it’s the maple that comes through. Strange! Taste smokey oak, syrupy sweet, malty caramel, light spicy, sweet, smoked wood, maple wood, again strange! Heavy aftertaste of sweet wood, most likely maple wood, some hints of liquorice wood and light smokey oak. Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, medium body and a bit thin light watery texture. This is really strange shit, but damn lovely with spare ribs!
