UPDATED: JAN 31, 2013 My lord this comes in a bright pink bottle. Pour has an amber color and a thin head. Aroma has maple, smoked bacon, and malt. Mouth feel is medium and there is average carbonation. Flavor is so thick on the maple, sweet bacon, malt, and some lingering sugars. Boy this is bad and I wish I had shared this with someone else to help ease the pain. I can not even drink this bottle it is just plain terrible and aside from having the pink bottle as a souvenir there is no need to even open this up. Why rogue have you played such a harsh joke on me and all the other unfortunate souls who try this concoction thinking that doughnuts in a bottle should be good? This is the first beer to be poured out in quite a while.

750ml bottle picked up in CA at Bevmo
Appearance: Hazy amber with a medium sized off-white head and some lacing
Aroma: Smokey and meaty
Taste: Peat, sugar and meaty
Went from the best beer of the night (Conflux 1) to the worst of the night. Not to good. Glad I’m sharing but sorry to the guys I’m sharing with.

Aroma is like breakfast. Hickory maple bacon. Smells good and sweet. The beer goes downhill from there. Too sweet. Share this with multiple folks. I had half left over and couldn't stomach the thought of drinking more. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Served from the fridge, it’s dark amber orange with sticky tan-orange head. It smells of maple and oranges, while chilled, overwhelmingly maple, hickory and smoke as it warms. The flavor is heavily smoked, with a touch of soy and just a hint of bacon. It’s sweet, syrupy but fairly viscous, with sharp bitterness and a touch of acid with lively carbonation. After some warming it thins up a bit, tasting a little like maple mineral water with candied sugar and toasted buttered bread crust. I think they could have pulled it off better as a stout (? perhaps?), but then again, how did I expect a bacon maple ale to taste? Unique, for sure.

Bottle:   Amberish, moderate frothy off-white head, fairly nice lacing.   Odd and somewhat of a plastic smoke like nose.   It appears to be like smoke infused maple, but it seems sickly sweet and a bit plastic like.   Yeah, okay... pale smoke, stale maple syrup, some ash and plastic like bacon on the tongue.   Lets just say its a little difficult to choke down.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   While I would love to try me some Bacon Maple Bars from Voodoo Doughnut, this beer is difficult to finish.   Sickly sweet at times, fake maple and smoke, smoke that is supposed to be like bacon.   Novelty for sure, and unfortunately one that isnt worth the $13 for a bottle. &nbps Neat label and silkscreen, but thats about it.

750ml bottle thanks to Craig. The aroma is smoky, bacon grease, powdered sugar. The flavor follows the aroma. This is not my thing. Glad I tried it.

750 thanks to Craig. Pours a deep orange/brown color with a medium white head. The aroma is smoky and sugary. The flavor is pixie sticks, some light tartness, smoke and more candy. OK.

A medium amber beer has an off white foam head and moderate carbonation. Aroma of maple syrup, burnt sugar, and a tiny hint of chocolate. Cloyingly sweet with flavors of maple and sugar. Can’t taste any bacon, but the smoked malts are definitely in the finish. Slightly bitter and mildly dry. Interesting.

Pours a clear red with an off-white head. Smells of bacon, maple syrup. Taste is sweet, then bitter, strong bacon flavor with a good maple presence - not very beer like but tastes like breakfast.

I'm halfway through and I've never thought of pouring a beer out til now. It's interesting, which is the only thing keeping me drinking. It's got a lot going on, great aroma, predominant maple taste with a sugary finish. On paper seems great, just doesn't really work as a beer, IMHO. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
