Shared by someone at the Monte’s Krown tasting yesterday. Very smoky in the nose. Watered down maple syrup with bacon, pancakes and a drop of the fake liquid smoke taste. Artificial all the way. Fake. Bad. robloc303 (268) - Erie, Colorado, USA - MAY 19, 2012
Poured a cloudy copper with good head. Nose smelled of smoked bacon, maple syrup, and nuts. Tasting was if you were to BBQ a McDonald’s McGriddle... The flavor was pure smoke with some sweet maple, with some bacon flavor. Not really something I would drink again, but had to try. panda666 (1) - - MAY 19, 2012 does not count
Promises more than it delivers, but not unpleasant. Should have used better maple product. jtclockwork (17284) - , New Jersey, USA - MAY 19, 2012
Bottle. Pours reddish amber. Off white head. Nose of maple syrup, sea salt, smoked ham, bacon and waffles - basically an IHOP. Taste is mostly faux maple and cigarettes - also like an IHOP. Medium body. nick76 (4402) - Tampa, Florida, USA - MAY 19, 2012
The aroma is fantastic in that it smells exactly like it should, it smells like maple back doughnuts. The appearance is amber with a medium head. The taste is not like the aroma lacing a lot of what I expected from the aroma. The palate is average. Overall this is worth a try but not a great beer.

high amount of maple flavor, as close to syrup as you can get. the bacon is not as strong despite the insistence of other raters. this is the kind of beer you want with breakfast pastries. j12601 (13123) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - MAY 19, 2012
Bottle courtesy of James’s monster cellar at a tasting at his place. Pours a lightly hazed ruby tinged amber with a medium beige head. Smells like a waitress at I-Hop. Cigarettes and maple syrup. Sadness, disappointment, and the failed promises of childhood Christmases. Maple bacon-smoke, old leftover doughnuts at Drunken Dougnnuts. Medium bodied, smoky and sweet. Syrup and smoked dougnuts. Sweet caramelized sugar and strange toast with a bit of toast. Very strange. So strange. Ratman197 (15372) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - MAY 18, 2012
Pink bomber poured a hazy orange amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of maple, bacon, pancakes and light smoke. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a smooth watery finish. Flavors of maple, pancakes, bacon and light smoke with a smooth watery lingering maple finish. Definatly a breakfasty beer! keepersj12 (3137) - Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA - MAY 17, 2012
I am quite torn on this beer. I thought the maple aroma was nice if not a bit pronounced and I liked the flavor but I didn’t get the bacon. Strange brew but enjoyable. I like that the brewers take crazy chances with the beers and hope they continue to do so. This is excellent with breakfast or with a dessert. Great bottle too. Smokey bacon and maple nose and taste. The bacon and maple are well pronounced but not overpowering. Maple sweetness followed by a smokey finish. Surprisingly good, but not something I’d drink more than once in a blue moon.
