UPDATED: AUG 13, 2014 Bottle: Surprisingly dark; deep brown edges, obsidian center with an enormous head, beige in color, chunky, puffy, long-lasting, & leaving some of the best lacing I’ve ever seen. Aroma is a mish-mash of overripe, rotten banana baby food & banana mush over a slightly roasted malt platform. Hint of chocolate that gets stronger with time. Not too roasty or sweet, just like bland, unsweetened cocoa powder. Not much peanut butter... A slight toasted, malt driven nuttiness but not explicitly "peanut butter", I’d say. Taste is a little muddled... Lots going on. Hints of banana mush, a little dry roasted chocolate malt, toasty caramel notes, & some vague nutty hints. Peanut butter finally does come alive on the palate with more warmth. Very slight peanut butter cup & banana vibe, though it’s not meshing as well as it should... Flavors seem a little artificial. Strange astringency strikes the tongue hard with each sip, too. Much better than Bacon Maple ale, but this one still could use some refinement.

A certainly interesting brew. Appearance is poor with high carbonation. Flavor is a good try but not something you want to return to and finish.

Probably the worst beer I have ever tasted. Complete failure on the part of Rogue. None of the flavors were there. I'd rather never drink beer again, than have to drink one more sip of this... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a very dark brown with a big khaki head and decent lacing on the glass.

Aroma of bananas, peanut butter, dime store chocolate... wow it’s unappetizing and smells like a really crappy piece of candy.... but with a booziness. ack.

The flavor is not good, but not on the same disgusting level of the aroma. It’s boozy, plasticy, & sweet. Like a weird candy, not at all like a doughnut. Yes there is banana, chocolate and peanut butter flavor... the peanut butter seems pretty good, everything else seems pretty crappy.

what can I say? I just can’t imagine this being perceived as a tasty or "successful" interpretation of the intended flavor profile...

Piwo mnie nie zachwyciło. Nie ma porównania do Voodoo Doughnut Bacon Maple. Wyczuwalny słód czekoladowy, którego smaku po prostu nie lubię. Goryczka na poziomie średnim, dobrze zbalansowana

Awesome combo I thought. Shit was I wrong. Chocolate and peanut butter is obviously a fine pair. Though what I was really curious about was the banana effect. Banana permeated this brew in every phase. This beer smelt and tasted like the banana in the Runts Candies. It was odd and off putting to say the least. Damn… Rogue, I expected more from you.

I wanted so much to like this, but I just didn’t. First of all, it didn’t taste like peanut butter, bananas, OR chocolate. It just tasted like a bland ale. Weird aftertaste.

UPDATED: MAY 25, 2014 Pours a deep brown with impressive head. Aroma is sweet banana split, synthetic chocolate syrup, peanut butter and some caramel. Big mineral mouth feel with fizzy carbonation. Aftertaste is Minerals, chocolate, caramel and lasting metal and noble hop bitterness. Overall: The synthetic aroma dosnt fit the mineral rich taste. The lasting metal/ minerals is really not good.

Philym (1003) - St Neots, Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - MAR 9, 2014
Appearance: Dark brown with finger thick ivory/tan head. Aroma: Banana, chocolate and a mineral fruity raspberry note? Taste: Medium/high bitterness, low/medium sweetness and low sourness. Palate: Thick coarse texture, light body, average carbonation, bitter, astringent, chocolate, nutty and mineral finish. The bitterness is verging on grapefruit pith and medicinal. Comments: Tasty, glass lace certainly unusual.

I’m not even sure why I bought this because the ’chocolate peanut butter and banana’ ale idea doesn’t even look good on paper. I wish I could say I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had actually pulled if off, but the results are pretty grim. Are there petroleum by-products in here?
