1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20
A - Pours a hazy golden amber with a rocky 2 finger white head that retains well. Nice blots of lacing.
S - Smells like an herbal evergreen forest with lots of floral ground cover. Some caramel malt and hints of astringent lemon as well as some dirty dish rag smell....maybe the yeast.
T - A train of herbal and evergreen hops creates a dry bitterness that scrapes your palate dry of everything. The caramel malt is mixed in but slowly shows up in the middle and progresses through to the aftertaste. Some doughy bread like characters try to come out. Finishes first like chewing on dry bitter herbs then switches to some bready flavors.
M - Light to medium.
This beer actually holds a special place in my heart. it was my first IPA back in I think 2001. I didn’t care as much about beer as much back then but remember almost pouring it out. I had never thought of pouring any beer out before. I never forgot that name or that beer.
So I was excited to try it again after all these years and having more knowledge about IPA’s.... It seemed to be as gross as the first time. There’s a non-diluted medicine character about it that I just can’t enjoy.

Can. One-dimentional hop aroma. Moderately thick mouthfeel. Bitter finish. Can’t really judge appearance without being able to decant, which was disappointing.

Can sourced from Toft Vin, shared at home with the fam - golden amber pour with white head. Sweet fruity and malty with a sweet caramel malty base, some tangerine and peach notes, hoppy bitter finish. DraftDodger (1566) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUN 10, 2017
Copenhagen 10/6 2017. 35,5 cl bottle from Skjold Burne. Yellow version of the Rogue label. Hailing guy in red outfit with clenched fist and Black dog. Pours slightly hazy golden yellow with big white head. Settles as 2 cm thick pillowy head. Massive Lacing. Aroma is kind of weak. Lightly fruity, bitter. As the beer warms up it gets stronger with exotic fruit, light fermentation and citric notes. Soft carbonation and medium thick palate. Flavor is medium sweet followed by strong bitterness. Aftertaste is rather bitter with semi dry finish. An not overly aggressive IPA which never the less has a nice distinctive bitterness. Should be drunk lukewarm to get all the nuances. . Bottle from Drygate. You still don’t get them quite like this over in the UK. Dry, piney hops in the nose and even more dryness in the glass and in the mouth. Chewy, resinous, ever so slight malt. Great depth and a long bitter finish. Refined. Robust. Yes. nhardes (30) - - MAY 27, 2017
Beautiful burnt orange appearance with low density short off white head. Slight citrus influenced aroma (oranges). Fruit almost completely absent up front, leading to dry bitterness. Slightly unbalanced. Long dry finish.

Solid, old school American IPA. Not fruity, but with good maltbase and hops to balance. Great.
