A - Pours a hazy golden amber with a rocky 2 finger white head that retains well. Nice blots of lacing. S - Smells like an herbal evergreen forest with lots of floral ground cover. Some caramel malt and hints of astringent lemon as well as some dirty dish rag smell....maybe the yeast. T - A train of herbal and evergreen hops creates a dry bitterness that scrapes your palate dry of everything. The caramel malt is mixed in but slowly shows up in the middle and progresses through to the aftertaste. Some doughy bread like characters try to come out. Finishes first like chewing on dry bitter herbs then switches to some bready flavors. M - Light to medium. This beer actually holds a special place in my heart. it was my first IPA back in I think 2001. I didnt care as much about beer as much back then but remember almost pouring it out. I had never thought of pouring any beer out before. I never forgot that name or that beer. So I was excited to try it again after all these years and having more knowledge about IPAs.... It seemed to be as gross as the first time. Theres a non-diluted medicine character about it that I just cant enjoy. Serving type: bottle 01-25-2011

Pours hazy orange from the bottle. The frothy white head soon reduces to whispy white lacing. The aroma is orange peel, light pine, faint caramel, quite nice. A bit restrained compared to the majority of IPAs Ive sampled lately. Taste is mildly bitter with mild sweet caramel undertones. Medium bodied with adequate carbonation. This is an okay beer in a workmanlike sort of way, but overall uninspired.

355ml bottle (bb 30 Apr 2017) at home on 18 Mar 2017, from Drygate Bottle Shop, Glasgow, floral, pine aroma, golden amber with a marginal haze and thin short-lived bubbly white head, floral, aromatic, spicy, powdery.

Bottle from Total Wine. Pours mandarin orange with a very minimal cap. Nice tropical fruit basket style ipa: pineapple, juicy citrus, a bit of oozing resin bitterness. A real nice late afternoon drinker. Really good showcase of what an ipa can be.

From a 16 oz. can and it is a clear golden color with an off white head. The aroma is malty and the taste is strong and bitter with hints of grapefruit rind and has a bitter finsh.

I bought a single 12 oz. bottle to try at home. My experience with Rogue brews has not been the best but maybe things are changing. It poured a brilliant yellow and gave a very good foamy head along with great bubble activity. The scent is fairly light, perhaps some citrus and then some straw. The taste is better, a really strong hop hit on the front end. It proceeds with a touch of vanilla sweetness and a long trail of moderate bitterness. All in all, a very decent delivery.

Deep yellow with white head. Sweet malt aroma with notes of bread along with strong hoppy notes of hay, grass and citrus fruit. The taste is medium sweet with light flavor notes of caramel that is quickly overtaken by hay and grass hop flavors along with a strong bitterness that lingers in the finish and aftertaste. Less overly fruity or piney than many other american IPAs Ive had, and a more subtle yet destinct hop aroma. I like that the bitterness is surprisingly strong compared to the aroma.
