UPDATED: JUL 20, 2008 Sold as ’Czech Pils’, but matches Geth_in_beer’s description, so I’ll rate it here. Sampled this a couple weeks ago as ’lager’, and again tonight as ’Czech Pils’. Very pretty, brilliant golden with a persistent film of silky white head and visible carbonation. Positives end there. Strange, unpleasant hop aroma seemed skunky, a surprising feat in a brewpub. Flavour was relatively bland, with no pils sweetness at all, and a disproportionate bilious hop bitterness. Clean lager yeast profile. Not recommended. On tap in the Rogues. Blah. Weird flavour and skunky aroma. Not sure at this attempt at a lager. Not refreshing or crisp. Just weird. OKBeer (1171) - Halifax, Nova Scotia, CANADA - AUG 14, 2003
Floral and slightly fruity (strawberry) aroma. Bright gold colour with a thick creamy mostly diminishing white head. Very refreshing, slightly prickly mouthfeel, to go with a moderately perfumed bitterness that starts light then builds and lingers. Decent lager.
