3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle thanks to mora2000. Pours with a deep, burgundy hued body, mild haze, nearly a slight brown tint. Good legs. Aromas are of over ripe berry, mild acid, waxy honey, slightly rotten fruit. Raisins, light pepper. Flavors are medium sweet, jammy, preserved black berry, canned fruit, jammy, raisinated, concentrated. Medium sweet, black berry, low tannin, medium-low balancing acid. Feels lowish alcohol for a mead with out a big balancing act. Medium-full bodied, black cherries, still, lightly warming.
(750ml bottle, courtesy of Mora2000) Pours a burgundy body with nice legs. Aroma of blackberry, honey, and raisins. Flavor of blackberries, vinous, and honey. brystmar (1314) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JUN 28, 2013
Murky, opaque brown-red color. Honey-covered blackberry aroma, lightly toasted. Plenty of fruit juice on the palate, courtesy of a sticky, viscous body. Honey next, then red wine, blackberries, more honey, and finally a touch of boozy heat. Quite nice! blutt59 (6563) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAY 20, 2013
bottled, thanks to mora2000, dark red to purplish color with some slight legs, has some heat but mostly a nice dense blackberry/currant flavor reminiscent of Chambord with some honey profile Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - MAR 9, 2013
Deep red pour. The aroma and flavor are very nice. There is a huge amount of fresh blackberries as well as some sweet honey notes. The alcohol is very well hidden and the mead is very drinkable. Very, very nice.

(750ml bottle thanks to mora2000) clear medium brown, no real legs. Nose of blackberry, bit of urinal cake, funky, blackberry seeds, lightly herbal. Taste of blackberry, honey, herbs, sweet, mildly complex, medium thick body. KAggie97 (3529) - Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA - AUG 1, 2012
Bottle. Be warned! It’s NOT a corked bottle. Unwrap the foil and remove the glass insert. Pours a nice licorice purple with a nose of blackberry candy, light honeyed sugar, and cold winds. Flavor is blackberry plucked fresh from the field behind my childhood home and fermented in a bee colony. Slick on the tongue. I love this mead; it brings back childhood memories of picking berries behind my house.
