copper in my buffalo beer fest sample glass capped by off white hue. Nose has plenty of pine and citrus. caramel and malt body with bitterness and citrus on the edges. More east coast IPA than west coast.

Sample at the brewpub on 7/1/13. Clear amber pour with a thick beige head. Malty and piney nose with dank earthy hop notes. Malty sweetness up front with bright citrusy and piney hops before a smooth, yet bitter finish. The best of their hoppy beers we got to try.

Draft at a bisons game, deeper copper pour, west coast like, not so sure. Malt bomb, decent dose of bitterness. Ok IPA

UPDATED: MAY 24, 2012 growler fill at Railroad St - Orange/brown color, nice but fleeting head, some lace. Nose was hops, palate was nice, bitter, out of balance finish. Good not great Revised 24 May 12 - This one has improved, with the flavor profile smoothing out for the better.

Rohrbach West Coast IPA (AKA California-Style IPA) is a hazy, dark amber ale with a firm, cream colored head that leaves decent lacing. It has an aroma of grapefruit and Rohrbach yeast. It’s medium bodied and pretty smooth with a dry, clean finish. The flavor is well balanced with citrusy bitterness and caramel malt. There isn’t any sweetness and the bitterness is pretty mellow. There is a light citrus peel bitterness that lingers on the tongue. It was pretty easy to put a growler of this away.

Tastes like a satire of a west coast IPA. Pours amberish from tap with a small head. There’s some slight resiny notes on the nose. There’s bitterness on the tongue but no hop flavor. Finishes clean.

Pours a clear amber color with a large head, decent head retention and very nice lacing. Big resiny aroma with some herbal notes. Taste is citrus hops and green apple. Medium bodied. Decent for an IPA.

Hazy dark amber. Floral hops + a bit of maltiness sneaking through into the nose, also slight grapefruit. Very malty creamy palate, a bit nutty, toffee, hops at the end. Not the hoppiest west coast styled IPA but very very tasty.
