2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tap. Copper color, white head. Decent balance with the malt and hops, primarily malty though. Starts sweet, finishes slightly bitter. Medium bodied. Decent.
UPDATED: MAR 31, 2009 Old Nate’s Pale Ale is a slightly cloudy light amber ale with a small white head that dissipates quickly. It has a slightly sweet aroma with a slight diacetyl note. The hops are citrusy and floral in the nose and there is a hint of tea. It is light, maybe medium-light, bodied and bubbly on the tongue. The finish is light and dry. The malt flavor is deep, dry and resiny. There are notes of peat and possibly smoke. Then, the finish has a citrus slap of grapefruit. The flavors of the malt and hops are nice on their own, but juxtaposed, they seem a bit at odds with each other. Haslinger (962) - The World of Beer, Texas, USA - JUL 27, 2008
On tap at Empire brewfest in Syracuse. The aroma is malty, the taste is malt with some nut, not too nutty but a good mix. Good brew would buy again blipp (9598) - La Mesa, California, USA - MAY 10, 2008
Draft at brewery on Railroad St. Pours amber with a beige head. Aroma is citrus hops with light malt. Medium body. Flavor is a nice balance of malt and hops, with grass and floral hop notes. Nice. Ron (4106) - Rochester, New York, USA - NOV 6, 2007
Draft at Rohrbach’s. Nice mix of malt and hops. Medium body and some carbonation. Slight hop bite at the end. Glad it was not overly hoppy. hopson (635) - Williamsville, New York, USA - NOV 2, 2007
draft- ehhhh, a somewhat bitter taste is preceded by a very malty aroma. Like many APA’s from very small brewers, this one does not have the hops to accomplish what it wants to. Make a bigger investment in ingredients and this one will be better.

Draft. Amber body, malty nose, not much hop, not much head. Malty example of style, minimal hop character, moderate bitterness. Sammy (12610) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 2, 2007
Great fresh on cask at Old Toad. Like a golden. WIth some head and active carbonation. Medium mouthfeel, yeast there. Can pass for a Belgian. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - JUN 5, 2007
bottle. Not enough hops. Watered down versionof an APA. Not very enjoyable needs more oomph. Crisp & clean but needs more shadey (2148) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - DEC 9, 2006
Nate’s pale ale. On draft at Rohrbach’s. Amber colored, english style pale ale. The hops only appear in the finish and only present a touch of bitterness. If this is truely labeled as an American pale ale, its a weak one. probstblueribbon (3791) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 25, 2006
Sampled at Real Beer Expo (Rochester). Deep amber colour, tight head with good duration. Deep caramel, butterscotch candy and light hops on the nose. Med.-full carbonation and med. body. Malty start, hoppy bitter finish with a little sweetness.
