A strong ale that starts out sweet and malty with an alcoholic warming in the finish. Very smooth going down but it packs quite a kick.

From a growler at BotW. Clear brown pour, little to no head. Smells pretty good, sweet caramel. Feels quite thin after expecting some heft from the label. Ok taste, got the hallmark scotch flavours, but not as big as I?d hoped, and tinged with a soapy vibe. Defo not a repeater, but I live 100s of miles away so the chances aren?t good anyway. There are far better scotches out there, including one from honeyoye falls just down the road.

On tap at Legends Bar in the Radisson hotel in downtown Rochester, N.Y., while in town to see a Bob Seger concert. Pours clear amber-brown with spritz of light tan head and lacing. Aroma: nuts, molasses. Flavor: the above, along with black pepper, brown bread, caramel; very much malt-forward. Mouthfeel: medium-bodied. Too sweet, even for the style.

Aroma is a lot of caramel and roast. The flavor is sweet, with a nice finish.

Hazy rustic Amber/copper with a foamy ivory head. Malty toast-filled nose that’s rustic and slightly dark and wheaty and slightly sweet. Semisweet and smooth dark malty flavor that’s a bit bready and wheaty. Lightly sweet and toasty. Meh.

On tap at the Brewpub Copper brown in color with a stingy white head. Sweet bready caramel maltiness faint fruit and a touch of smoke. Decent beer.

Not gonna go into depth here. Overall unremarkable in just about every way. Drinkable but nothing worth going back for.

Poured into a pint glass from a 16oz tallboy can. 3.5 A: Clear copper color. Two fingers of frothy beige head. Retention is about average and a short ring of lacing is left. 3.75 S: Lots of toastiness with sweet caramel. Hints of toffee, biscuit malts, and a touch of nuttiness and figgy fruitiness. Smells pretty good. 3.5 T: Like the nose, but a little more subdued. Lots of toastiness with caramel and toffee. Nuttiness, light fruits, biscuit malts. 3.75 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Pleasantly creamy and super smooth. 3.75 D: Solid brew. Good flavors and no problems. ★ 605 characters DavoleBomb, Nov 09, 2015

Brown color . Medium-sized, beige head . Aroma of toasted malt , wood , butterscotch. Sweet , malty taste with bitterness at the end. Smooth, malty beer. Nothing really special, but still interesting.

Can. Very sweet, dark brown pour. Has a bit of the malt backbone but really just overly sweet. Not very well balanced, really, but not terrible.

The body has a nice dark brown color with deep amber highlights. It raises an average 1.5 to 2 inch beige head. The head holds on well and makes some cool lacing on the glass. In the nose I pick up a good toasted malts character with lots malt sweetness and candy like sweetness as well. Also way off in the background I get a hint of citrus and herbal hops. The flavor is full of toasted malt and grain sweetness with some light fruity candy like sweetness as well. The hops offer a slight herbal back note and just the slightest bitterness near the finish. For such a firm malty beer it is quite drinkable and the sweetness never gets out of control. It has a smooth mellow feel with mild carbonation.
