Our maple syrup Brown Ale is aged in Elijah Craig 12 Year bourbon barrels for over 6 months. This barrel immersion imparts a vanilla aroma and smoothness to the roasted coffee flavor. Notes of toasted malt, oak and raisin bread balance with a dry espresso finish. Enjoy this handcrafted brew in a goblet style glass for the best flavor experience.

On tap at The Harvest Cafe. Poured a golden brown with a little bourbon and sweetness on the nose. Malt, a little hops, and coffee hit the buds quickly and left a great finish, awesome job RM. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour out of 750 ml bottle, dark brownish pour with white head, aroma brought notes of dark fruit, chocolate, touch of big oak, earth, dark tannins, lots of sour celery. Taste is a mix of oak, earth, celery, vegetal, hints of oak, grain, some acetone. Finishes fairly bitter, tart.

Bottle @ Steveís house. Thanks Steve! Pours a reddish brown appearance with a light brown head. Celery, rhubarb, caramel, light whiskey nose. Some acetone in the nose. Chewy woody, herbal, acetone, chemical flavor. Unfortunately, this bottle is fucked.

12 July 2014, tap at Rolling Meadows brewery. 2013 Elijah Craig version. Brown. Nose is nail polish remover, Woody hints. Med body and mildly fizzy. Really tonic wood, sweet, lots of alcohol, maple syrup, nail polish remover. Pretty good. Might do well to age a bit but I think this is 6 months old already.

22 oz bomber into a tulip, huge thanks to Matt. Batch #2, Bottle 53/300. Opened with a slight gush but luckily itís not infected. Pours a dark black with some tan edging. Sits like black coffee that shows a little light through the sides. Kinda effervescent looking. Nose is predominantly the barrel; dry oak and sweet vanilla with some light maple, cola and spicy dark chocolate. Insanely bourbon forward, Taste has some of those brown ale characteristics of mineral water and caramel malts but with a heavy dosage of oak, toffee and vanilla. Slightly bitter and warm finish. Maple isnít that noticeable but it feels sticky despite a thinner mouth feel. The base beer was excellent, and this just elevates it. Such a well integrated barrel presence. Impressive for sure.

Had this on tap at The Harvest Cafe in Delavan IL. Really amazing. Nose was barrel, wood, slightly tobacco like. Straight away the mouth feelnis alittle thin yet perfect for this style. The taste is so well balanced. You start with the vanillas, coconuts and sweetness and end with dry dark chocolate. But after every drink u canít wait for the next. Really great!!!!
