At Rooie Dop, we dont really care about styles. But this is our version of an American IPA. Classic example of the style? Fits perfectly into the category? No. Does it need to be? It just needs to be pretty tasty! Chinook and Cascade hops dominate this beer and are assisted by a biscuity malty backbone. You just cant resist a Chica Americana!

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2014 My all-time favorite. Though the quality is not as stable as I would like it to be. Bodily. Lots of citrus. Dont take this as your first beer.

Apparently made in real gypsy style with the new brewer just using De Molen installation and no input from Menno // 33 cl. bottle sampled @ GBF 2012 // hazy bright orange with a white head // american hop goodness is in the nose, lots of sweet marmalade, pine, quite fruity actually, orange peel, with some caramel but not overt // taste is bitter marmalade, orange peel, creamy american hops, fruity, peaches, reasonably biter, smooth, hint caramel and sweet bread, dash grass in the back almost // so creamy and smooth // great stuff, digging this new guy

Bottle 0,33l Botting date: 29/05/12 Color pale orange, cloudy. Wonderful and huge white head, stay a long long time. Beautifully cakes glass. Aroma - for me very good, refreshing, grapes (someting like white wines - souvignon blanc), a little bit hidden citrus, tropical fruits. Taste In the begining a little sparkling, then blend of grapes, grapefruit, some sweet citrus. Long and tasty bitter finish. Very good beer. Especially after hard day in work ;)

Bottle from Burg Bieren. Was really looking forward to this one. Pours a hazy dark orange coloured beer with an off-white head. Nose is initially grapefruits, oranges, slightly floral. Flavour is grapefruits and oranges. Crisp and dry, fairly bitter. Medium carbonation. Fairly bitter and slightly dry finish. Really well done.

33cl bottle @ home. Hazy dark copper color, medium white head. Aroma citrus, sweet fruits, biscuit, belgian yeast in the nose, grapefruit, more fruit, soap, quinine flavor. Taste light sweetness, heavy medicine bitterness, salty notes. Refreshing, full body, thin feel, sticky texture, average carbonation, very strong and long lasting overdosed bitter finish. Its a hardcore bitter IPA which seems to be the style of Rooie Dop. The Difference from "Ot the explorer" that this is a bit more fruity especially the smell. Good if you like that bitterness stays in your mouth until you drink or eat something else. At the end Im still not sure if its delicious or just brutal.:)

Nice copper hazy body, big rocky head. Fragrant fresh aroma, floral and interesting. Drinkable body, not too full. Flavourful and a solid bitterness. Especially nice aftertaste. Hard to rate, knowing the brewers, but I really like drinking this. More please! (33cl bottle, gift from Cesar)

Hazy dark amber colour with a very decent beige head. Aroma is lots of fruity hop, rather sweet. Taste is again a lot of fruity flowery hops with something almost medicinal hidden somewhere. Not unpleasant though. Nice bitterness. Good body and carbo. Well done.

330ml bottle. Sweet, herbal and berries aromas. Pours clody orange, with hughe white head, persistent, good lacing. Medium body and lively carbonation. Taste is citrus, herbal and sweet, with a long dry finish. Really enjoyable.
