Bottled. Pitch black colour, small brown head. Aroma is powder, bourbon, ripe fruits, liquorice and some mild notes of alcohol. Flavour is raisins, toasted malts, roasted malts as well as some ripe fruits and liquorice. Slight alcohol, but not disturbingly much.

330ml bottle

Pours pitch black with a tiny white head. Aroma of buttery bourbon notes, wood, vanilla, oak and roasted malts. Taste is smooth, sweet and buttery with loads of bourbon notes, oak, vanilla and roastiness. Finish is smooth, roasty and woody with notes of bourbon, vanilla and ash. Quite sweet and buttery bourbon aged IS. Okay.

33 cl bottle.
Pours jet black color with a small head. Aroma of licorice, vanilla, bourbon notes, mild red wine notes and caramel malts. Flavor is sweet and syrupy, caramel malts, toffee, sugar, dark malts, chocolate and mild bourbon notes. Dry cocoa-dominant palate, lingering sweet caramel finish. Complex but maybe a tad too sweet.

330 ml bottle.
Pours a black colour with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, butter and wooden notes. Rich flavour of roasted malts, butter, bourbon, wood, licorice and grassy bitterness. Full bodied, oily mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Rich and tasty, a bit too straightforward however. The barrel accompanies the flavours quite nicely. Good stuff.

33 cl bottle @ home. Bottled 03.03.2013, bbe 03.03.2038
Aroma has strong bourbon notes; vanilla and wood and quite nothing else. Flavour is strong on vanilla. Also some woody notes, some butter and bourbon. Quite generic bourbon-aged IS. Nothing disturbing here though.

TimE (5914) - Tokyo, JAPAN - FEB 6, 2014
smells like oatmeal, vegetables, with a touch of bourbon. Bourbon is more pronounced in the mouth, moderately sweet malty, full body, roasty, slightly syrupy. Fairly well done, but probably could age a bit longer to dry out.

Dark brown/black colour, nice layer of brown foam. Very complex aroma of roasted malts and bourbon. Light bitter, sweet aftertaste.

Bottle. Thick, syrupy, opaque blaque pour with the richest, creamiest brown foam I’ve seen in a while. Aroma is quite bourbony, rich vanilla, bourbon sweetness, coffee, dark chocolate, oak, there is also something a tad off as well though, something slightly metallic perhaps, cheesy, anyways very light. Taste is rich, very bourbon forward, sweet, syrupy, nice roastiness, good warming alcohol. Palate is rich, good carbonation to even things out a bit. Really tasty RIS.

UPDATED: AUG 13, 2014 Deep dark / black colour with brown head... vanishes after a while. Smells like bourbon with chocolate. Tastes of Lakrisal, anice, fennel and chocolate. Wooden bourbon touch. Dry and sweet almost like cherries. Heavy alcohol flavour, but not to much! It’s like a dessert :D

Bottle. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate bourbon aroma. Roasted malty woody bourbon and chocolate flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate finish with hints of bourbon.
