Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting, from Kihiosk, Copenhagen. ABV is 9.6%. Black colour, huge and lasting tan head. Moderate malty and roasty aroma, notes of caramel, chocolate, oats and mild coffee. The flavour has notes of molasses, oak, caramel and roasted malts, also chocolate and coffee. Quite good.

Bottle at Pigalle. Roasty, chocolate, bit sweet. Taste is boozy, oats, good stuff. Had drunk a lot by this stage, so a bit hazy.

arkurzynski (2415) - Combined Locks, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 9, 2014
Deep black with minimal head. Nose of dark chocolate, roast malt, faint smoky coffee and dark fruit. Flavor is a pretty even mix of roast malt and dark fruit (plum, raisin, dark cherry) with some caramel and bitter chocolate. Lingrering grainy roast. Bitter chocolate.

Double Oatmeal Stout przy przelewaniu jest barwy ciemnobrązowej, w szklance czarny nie przejrzysty. Pianę posiada dość skąpą, ale utrzymuje się długo oraz ładnie zdobi ścianki szklanki. W aromacie mamy dominujący zapach kawy i czekolady.

Bottle, 0.33l. Pours cloudy black with small creamy light brown head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, coffe, caramel, dark fruits and spicy hops. Taste starts with touch of fruity acidity, which is quickly dominated by sweet and rich chocolate, roasted malt and licorice, mouthfeel is warming with moderate alcohol note, while finish is pleasant medium bitter. Full body, syrupy texture and soft carbonation in palate. Despite high ABV, this is incredibly drinkable brew...

4oz on tap at Liberty’s. Black color. Thin bubbly tan head. Good thicker ridges of lace. Bigger dark fruit, kind of a burnt malt and molasses aroma. Medium-plus body.Smooth, lighter carbonation. Slick texture. Aside from a bigger sweet taste, seems to hide the 9.5% ABV well, but isn’t thick or chewy as my favorite American alternatives. Bigger sweet taste, kind of spicy. Light bitterness. Solid stuff, but not great. A bit too sweet, and kind of thin, for me.
