A strong taste is provided by chocolaty and roasted malts, which are combined with soft smoothness from the oats. Add up a little bitterness from Columbus hops and you’ll get a dangerously drinkable Double Oatmeal Stout!

Malts: Pale, flaked oats, Cara, Black, Special B, roasted barley.
Hops: Columbus, Saaz

Dark reddish brown, with no head. Oily in appearance. Aroma of chocolate and malts, and a slight bit of cheese. Lots of molasses and fruitcake starting off sweet and sticky and ending a bit bitter and astringent.

Pours black. Minimal head, oily film on top. Aroma is dried red fruit, fruitcake, dark chocolate. Medium body. Velvety. Roasted and burnt notes on the finish.

Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours very dark brown. Aroma of dark malt and dark fruit. Med + body. Flavor is dark treacle, dark fruit, and possibly some bitter hop. Not to mention chocolate coming into the finish. It’s good ale, and more complicated than my descriptive skills can handle.

Bottle from Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours near black with a small but attractive tan head and a roasted chocolate aroma. There is a rich smooth chocolate flavor with a nice bitter finish Very tasty.

Definitely a lot of oatmeal aroma in this which I don’t always sense in oatmeal stout. Breakfast aroma of coffee poured into oats without cream. Pours dark brown with bubbly initial head and not much lacing. Some roast with light bitter finish. Some chocolate as well. Tap at Churchkey.

Butelka 33cl. OCZY : piwo jest mocno ciemnobrązowe, praktycznie czarne. Piana jest niewielka i ma brązowy kolor. NOS : piwo ma bogaty aromat słodowy przypominający przypalony karmel, słodką kawę, skórkę pełnoziarnistego chleba, czarną czekoladę. Do tego mocny aromat alkoholu i skórki pomarańczy. Można dodać do tego toffi, banan i sos sojowy. USTA : mało nasycone i gęste o konsystencji chudej śmietany. Piwo jest słodkie o nutach słodowych z niuansami czekolady i karmelizowanych nasion. Słodki smak utrzymuje się do końca i dominuje. W kontrze jedynie mamy nuty delikatnie kwaśne i cierpkie przypominające kawę i tytoń, plus paloną gorzkość o umiarkowanej sile.Posmak jest podobny do słodkiej rozpuszczalnej kawy. ODCZUCIA : smaczny i przyjemny ale nie szlachetny. Brakuje polotu. Z kolei nie brakuje alkoholu. OCENA : smak : 7/10 pijalność : 5/10 styl : +1

Bottle. Very lively pour, dark dark brown crowned with a ridiculous tan coloured pompadour. Chocolate and roast make up the aroma. These are feature flavours as well, but there is also a lovely sharp tartness (not quite sour) that livens things up, as well as some soft oats, finishing with dusty tree bark. That tartness really appeals to me, cutting through what could become a heavy venture. Nice.

Has mostly malts. In aroma and in taste as well. Of course it’s stout, so there is a little bit of caramel, a little bit of coffee. But I tasted mostly malts. It’s quite sweet and quite tasty.
