COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A strong taste is provided by chocolaty and roasted malts, which are combined with soft smoothness from the oats. Add up a little bitterness from Columbus hops and you’ll get a dangerously drinkable Double Oatmeal Stout!

Malts: Pale, flaked oats, Cara, Black, Special B, roasted barley.
Hops: Columbus, Saaz

9.6% ABV. Imperial Stout. Malty. Sweet. Caramel flavor notes impress themselves on the palate right away. A little pushy and a little lacking in finesse for me; but that’s just me I guess. The aromas from the back of the nose and throat can only be described as funky. Flavor notes suggesting dark chocolate, dates, sweet prunes, and honey plums are all present. Hint of sweet tobacco in the back of the throat. Rich breadlike palate from all that oatmeal, nice solid malty base. Good resinous hops with a clingy bitter botanical finish that just won’t go away, but not very interesting otherwise. I like Prairie Ale’s, Siren’s Shattered Dream or Mikkeller’s Black Malts and Body Salts better.

Alengrin (5376) - BELGIUM - MAY 17, 2015
Strong Dutch stout with coarse and loose, light beige head and black colour. Aroma of walnuts, fondant, whisky, cocoa, caramel, bayleaf, paprika and something strangely ’meaty’ or even ’fishy’ (fresh sea fruit - if I had to taste this blind, I’d suspect it to be an oyster stout). Sweet, candied onset with salty touch (soy sauce), hearty and umami flavour, thick and oily mouthfeel, a bit sticky, toasted bread and roasted bitterness in the end but not strongly coffeeish, bitter chocolate, herbal hops and warming, whisky-like alcohol. Very good stout.

A very tasty imperial stout. Pours a thin black with zero head. Aromas of vanilla and chocolate. Flavours are mostly sweet and very smooth. Vanilla, coffee, chocolate. Great flavours. Zero abv. Dangerously drinkable. The palate is very thin. Very un-imperial stout like.

mmyohane (108) - Helsinki, FINLAND - APR 11, 2015
Aroma has prunes, vanilla, roasted malts, chocolate and coffee. Pours black with a small ribg head that leaves minimal lacing. Taste has medium bitterness and light sweetness and same elements with the aroma. Full body, soft carbonation. Long bitter and ashy finish.

Black colored head, full body, oily texture. Obvious but soft carbonation. Coffee and chocolate taste and aftertaste. Very drinkable. Overall still quite good.
