PunkAGM2015 rate catchup from notes. 6/6/15. Final stop at CASC. What can I say, it’s a classy imperial stout. Huhzubendah (3775) - Washington DC, USA - JUN 3, 2015
Dark brown, near black body with a thin beige collar. Aromas of roast, char, chocolate, molasses. Rich and dark. Chocolate and leather, with ample dark roast character. Sweet, dark fruits soaked in booze. Not getting the oatmeal character here. Medium thick body with low carbonation. Pretty good. drjoeng (1461) - SINGAPORE - MAY 23, 2015
9.6% ABV. Imperial Stout.
Malty. Sweet. Caramel flavor notes impress themselves on the palate right away. A little pushy and a little lacking in finesse for me; but that’s just me I guess.
The aromas from the back of the nose and throat can only be described as funky. Flavor notes suggesting dark chocolate, dates, sweet prunes, and honey plums are all present.
Hint of sweet tobacco in the back of the throat.
Rich breadlike palate from all that oatmeal, nice solid malty base. Good resinous hops with a clingy bitter botanical finish that just won’t go away, but not very interesting otherwise. I like Prairie Ale’s, Siren’s Shattered Dream or Mikkeller’s Black Malts and Body Salts better. Alengrin (5884) - BELGIUM - MAY 17, 2015
Strong Dutch stout with coarse and loose, light beige head and black colour. Aroma of walnuts, fondant, whisky, cocoa, caramel, bayleaf, paprika and something strangely ’meaty’ or even ’fishy’ (fresh sea fruit - if I had to taste this blind, I’d suspect it to be an oyster stout). Sweet, candied onset with salty touch (soy sauce), hearty and umami flavour, thick and oily mouthfeel, a bit sticky, toasted bread and roasted bitterness in the end but not strongly coffeeish, bitter chocolate, herbal hops and warming, whisky-like alcohol. Very good stout. Torrefacto (1791) - Madrid, SPAIN - MAY 15, 2015
Negro opaco y espuma beis. Aromas intensos de cacao, chocolate y tostados. Cuerpo denso y sedoso con sabor a cacao y chocolate con amargor tostado final medio.

T/S: Roasted malt, sweet, chocolate, raisin / Malta tostada, dulce, chocolate, uvas pasas. Reconqvista (339) - Madrid, SPAIN - MAY 8, 2015
Black color beer with a frothy, lasting and big light brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, caramel, toffee and black chocolate. Flavor is sweet, like liquorice. Body is very oily and carbonation is low. Dry long end. cards04 (2943) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - APR 23, 2015
A very tasty imperial stout. Pours a thin black with zero head. Aromas of vanilla and chocolate. Flavours are mostly sweet and very smooth. Vanilla, coffee, chocolate. Great flavours. Zero abv. Dangerously drinkable. The palate is very thin. Very un-imperial stout like.
