Botella de 330ml gracias a Juanjo por compartirla. Vaso de Pinta. Saboreada en jun12. Color negro intenso y corona de espuma beige claro y burbuja pequea. Buena retencin. Cuerpo intenso y carbonatacin moderada. Paladar cremoso y aterciopelado. Placentera y deliciosa. 9,6 ABV? Ests de coa 330ml bottle thanks to Juanjo for sharing this one-. Pint glass. Enjoyed on jun12. Pitch black in color headed by light beige, small bubbled, froth. Good retention. Oats, dried coffee grains, roasted malts, hints of chocolate & subtle floral fragancy to the nose. Bitter/sweet fudge chocolate & underlying bitterness flow together into a long bitter finish with slightly citric touch. Full body, moderate carbonation. Velvet, creamy, palate. Pleasant & delightful. A 9.6 ABV beer ?? Come on

Double Oatmeal Stout przy przelewaniu jest barwy ciemnobrązowej, w szklance czarny nie przejrzysty. Pianę posiada dość skąpą, ale utrzymuje się długo oraz ładnie zdobi ścianki szklanki. W aromacie mamy dominujący zapach kawy i czekolady.

Pours opaque sable to the bottom, with a thick and rather persistent fine-bubbled tan head. Could scarcely get more appetizing - to me, anyway, the stoutie. Aroma presents roast malt, molasses, licorice and oat notes plus hints of mocha. Core of roast, smoky malt supports chocolate, oaty, licorice, molasses and coffee tones. Outright lip-smacking! Mouthfeel features firm, smooth body and some good fizz. Will make you say Rooie!

Bottle from Burg Bieren. Was very curious about how this one would turn out. Black colour, thin brown head. Nose is roasted malts, coffee, oats, cacao, slight sourness. Flavour is roasted malts, coffee, slight hop bitterness upfront, followed by chewy oats and a medium bodied, fairly dry and slightly bitter palate. Fairly bitter and a slightly alcoholic finish. Very enjoyable!

UPDATED: JUL 24, 2014 Bottled at Rooie Dop tasting session at De Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Black appearance, no head. Absolutely fantastic complex nose, loads of malts, oats, coffee, some chocolate, some hops, even some wood notes. Very smooth yet complex malty flavor, very clear oatmeal presence, bitter but enough other flavors to balance it out. Developing and lasting finish. While this bottle was still quite fresh im already very much impressed. Seems like a very suitable candidate for barrel-aging as well. Very, very nice beer. Re-rate: Bottled at home, aged for about half a year. Huge head this time. Coffee and malts even more pronounced, also a bit more alcoholic. This beer definitely benefits from aging a bit. Rating reflects aged sample.

Apparently made in real gypsy style with the new brewer just using De Molen installation and no input from Menno // 33 cl. bottle sampled @ GBF 2012 // dark brown with a tanned head // smell is deliciously sweet, thick malts, chocolate plain and milk, light roast, cocoa, vanilla and some fruits // taste is sweeter side, yummy and surprisingly fruity, actually getting plenty of raspberries in here plus reasonable amount of sweet berries on top, lots of nuts, creamy oatmeal, milk chocolate, malty, toffee, sweeter coffee & that fruitiness // very creamy body // watch out for the new kid on the block

now HEREs a surprise ! dont know what the hell oat is , so never tried an oat stout.. aint it haver in dutch? anyway, alway thought it wanst my kind of thing, well, and this.. was.. cant realy say this stout has anything i havent had yet in a stout, the onley diffrence here is, that this is, to me, a basic rusian imperioal, very well balanced, and the good things in it, come way much more to live here. no coffee ( not a big fan of coffe here folks) no chocolat ( witch this proves to be not a negative thing, as i alway thought) in stead you get a realy heavy, yet drinkable, very nice brew. im gonna buy this for sure !

[email protected] dungeon tasting. As a newly brewed beer it is not that special, just a nice stout. I also had the opportunity to drink a bottle of Double Oatmeal Stout made as test brew #16, almost 2 years old: This aged beer is so much better than a fresh brew. So a tip, put it in storage for 1 year or more.

UPDATED: MAY 23, 2014 (Drinking date: 23 January 2014) Pitchblack colour, no light comes through. Layer of creamy, beige foam, which disappears to a small layer. The aroma is good. What you can smell is a delicious hoppy smell. You can also smell chocolate, burned malts, a bit of alcohol, and roasted malt. The taste is really delicious. It is bitter, but not too bitter. You really taste the roasted malt, with a bit of a sweet taste, just a little bit. Also a chocolaty taste. Bitterness of the burned malt and hops. The beer has a more bitter aftertaste, where the bitterness of burned malt and the hops are present, which tastes very good. The alcohol leaves a warm feeling in my mouth and throath. The carbonation is exactly right, it is just a little bit, which is good for this beer. The body is also good. Good, full body. It feels really soft, which I like. Overall, this is a really good and delicious beer, with a good bitterness of the hops and the burned/roasted malt, but not too bitter. The aroma is good but can be a bit better. But overall, this beer is really good and delicious and I really enjoyed drinking this beer! That?s why it gets the total score of 4.4
