The city and province of Utrecht has got a great history (and future) of brewing beer. It deserves a beer that shows our appreciation and what more could we do than make this Utrecht Strong Ale. Big hops dominate the aroma and big malts support them in taste. Put your hands up for Utrecht, we love that city!

from Drankenhuys Amersfoort, 13/5/14. No Head, lots of carbonation. Brown coloured. Hoppy aroma, also some caamel. Citrus in the taste. Nice bitter finish, nice one!

Butelka 33cl. Słodkie o nutach karmelu i ciasta. Mocno geste i słodkie o równie mocnych gorzkich i aromatycznych chmielach. Polecam. OCENA : smak : 8/10 pijalność : 6/10 styl : +1

Bottle, 0.33l, shared with Hoppiness crew. Hazy orange brown color with medium creamy off-white head and nice lacing. Aroma is yeasty, hoppy, fruity, floral with creamy scent, too. Taste starts with sweet caramel, follows by refreshng fruity and yeasty acidity, mouthfeel is warming and alcoholic, while finish is pleasantly bitter. Full body, syrupy texture and average carbonation in palate. Good company and such a good beer make your mood quickly better...

On tap at Cascade, pours an opaque dark orangey amber with a medium beige head. Aroma of sweet caramel malts, candied fruits, and a pronounced hop edge. Flavour is not balanced or cohesive at all, with cloying caramel and dark fruit sweetness, with jagged hops that attempt to balance. Not good at all.

0.33l bottle from Brewdog Camden, enjoyed at our hotel room. Lots and lots of head on this one. Not disturbing, but much. It pours a blurry deep amber almost bronze colored body and the color of the big head is mild beige. Smells nice and malty. Lots of malty goodness here, and a little bit of both caramel, spices, grass, alcohol and red fruits. Not bad at all. Lots of flavor! Was expecting the alcohol to be much more up front than this, cause it’s surprisingly well hidden. Loaded with biscuit sweetness and something light burned. It has strong oily mouthfeel and the carbonation is just about average. Soft warming aftertaste. Lots of malty sweetness as well. Wouldn’t mind having this more available. 09.11.2013

Bottle. Murky golden brown, off white head that recedes to little foamy islands. Aroma is sweetly malty with ripe stone fruit. A mixed bag of sweet malty and yeasty traits, including fruity caramel, light chocolate, and a bit of bread. The hops here are soft and peachy, maybe a bit of ripe mango too, but nothing stands out amongst the malt dominance. Enjoyable but a bit muddled.

330ml bottle (
Super spicy aroma, pure rye it’s so spicy. Full palate, carbonation lowish, which makes the sweetness a bit slick. Big full malty taste, a little mashy too, but not raw, tons of bitter hops too. Quite heavy, but because of the heavy sweetness smothering the alcohol it’s not boozy. Too sweet for me, but certainly very tasty in its own way.

330ml bottle (shared by FatPhil, thanks). Murky brown color. Chunky, moldy head, stays. Sweet, fruity, candy, spicy, bit of ginger in aroma. Sweet, candy, roast, hops, malty taste. Sweet body. Malty aftertaste. Nice one.

Een bier met een heel lekkere geur, maar de smaak is daarentegen enorm slecht vind ik.
