On tap at The Brass Tap poured a clear reddish amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of tobacco, earthiness and light caramel. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of tobacco, earthiness and light toffee with a smooth dry lingering tobacco finish. hopscotch (11113) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JUL 22, 2012
Draft... Clear dark-copper ale with a small, creamy, white head. Good retention. The aromatic standouts are toasted malts, dates and a pleasant nuttiness. Medium to full-bodied and creamy with prickly carbonation. The flavor presents notes of toasted malt and caramel up front; maple and medium bitterness on the backside. Lengthy, minerally, fairly bitter finish. Go Steelers! douglas88 (9194) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 12, 2012
6 pack from Giant Eagle. Pours a deep mahogany hue with a small white head. The aroma is light caramel and toasted malts. The flavor is a sweet mix of chocolates and caramel, some dryness. Pretty clean. Almost porter-like at times. PorterPounder (7970) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAR 2, 2013
Tallahassee, Fl - ABC Fine Wine & Spirits - 12 oz bottle. Pours a medium copper, slightly sparkling, very slight off-white head. Aroma has some very slight meaty undertones, a touch of cinnamon. Flavor has some peaty qualities, a touch of toffee, some nuttiness, a hint of chewing tobacco. Very flavorful for an Irish Ale. Smooth mouthfeel. Much better than expected. I had fairly low expectations for this one but it ended up being fairly pleasant. +++ Sampled on draft at D’s in Monroeville this beer poured a dark caramel-brown color with a medium sized foamy beige head that left good lacing. The aroma was sweetish and malty with light fruity hops and a bit of bread. The flavor was semi sweet bread, caramel, nut and wood with undertones of faint vague tangy fruity hops. Surprisingly complex. The finish was long with notes of wood, bread and nut. Medium body. Exceeded expectations.

This poured a medium red color with a beige head. Aroma was grassy, caramel, and light metallic notes. Flavor was nutty and caramel maltiness, with very light old grassy hops. Better than expected. Suttree (6392) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JUN 30, 2013
Reddish copper, thing ring of foam. Caramel, bread. Flavor is..um..what was I rating again? This really did not leave much of an impression... cheap (5862) - Beaver Valley, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 5, 2012
OK, so Rocky Blie couldn’t have his own beer but the rooneys can, go figure. Smooth mild easy going for the most part. Pour is quite dark, enough to be considered a dark beer. Pretty good fun for a lager lover, quite beery but not over the top in any way. Aroma hints like the friendly sweat of a girlfriend. Finish is mild malt or possibly lagerized dull industrial hops. Overall good beer experience. Aurelius (5335) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAR 3, 2013
Dry, toasty aroma with some nuts. Clean label, standard US longneck, keystone cap. Clear, dark brown beer, thin lacy head. Flavor mirrors the aroma -- dry, toasty/roasty, lightly acidic, pleasant bittering. Session weight, long roasty aftertaste gets a little clingy. A little sweetness and raisin as it warms. Not bad. The wait staff told me it was like a Killian’s but reminded me more of German dunkel. Very smooth taste and mellow. A pleasant surprise.
