tombyars (1683) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - FEB 29, 2012
Tasted this in the Salt Cot, Saltcoats (JDW) in May 2010. Cask. handpump dispense. Crystal clear pale gold in colour with a thin white head. Dusty lemony hops in the long aroma. Thin resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a citric fruit note of sherbert lemon, pineapple and grapefruit. Good floral lemony hops compliment the malt component well to give a dry zesty bitter aftertaste. Strong citrus fruit returns in the tangy finish. An ok Golden Ale but not that outstanding.

Bottled. Faintly hoppy and dry, slightly creamy mouthfeel, bitter finish, reasonable carbonation.

MesandSim (7117) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 20, 2010
A Sim rate (cask at the Woolpack): Ummm...I’m not gonna lie. It’s not great. Very malty, wheaty and no hop flavour at all. Good cheer it does not create.

Had a few pints of this beer in the Carpenters Arms Windsor England recently. I found it a very satisfying beer, very much to my taste.

JDW, Rochester. Pale and hoppy - a good, thirst quenching session beer with pleasant honey and lemon citric flavours. Nice.

Cask at the Hope Trip (JDW), Reading. Pale straw with a dense cream head; citrus aroma; citrus taste with some underlying biscuity malts; and a clean refreshing, lightly bitter, finish. An OK summer beer to drink while watching the football.
