Pours deep ruddy broiwn with a tan head that envelopes the glass. Heavily carbonated creating a sharp mouthfeel. Flavor is meaty, like iron. Just not a good experience. decaturstevo (6244) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - AUG 9, 2009
Deep red pour with off white head and lace. Brown sugar and cheery aroma. Toasted malt and brown sugar flavor. Medium full bodied with very good carbonation. Lagunitasfan (1323) - San Diego, California, USA - JUL 23, 2009

Bottle shared at Noogfest High 5.
Poured hazy copper brown color with an average frothy light brown head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy earthy hop and malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Moderate to heavy dark fruit sweet flavor with a moderate to heavy bittersweet finish of medium to long duration.
Very good brew that I would recommend to a freind. BMan1113VR (7931) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JUL 21, 2009

@Noogfest High5 Thanks thebeersommolier-22oz bottle–pours a retaining light brown head and cloudy brown color. Aroma is dark malt-chocolate, earthy. Taste is dark malt-chocolate, earthy hops bite. High carbonation. heemer77 (5358) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - JUL 6, 2009
Sample from Noogfest High 5. The body was reddish brown with a yelloing khaki head. This was overcarbonated. The bread dough and raisin aroma was fairly pleasing. Taste of sweet peanuts and caramel. There was a slightly dry woody finish. Nice stuff, they need to get the carbonation down. tronraner (2459) - Walland, Tennessee, USA - JUL 1, 2009
Sampled at Noogfest High 5. Pours reddish brown with huge beige head and heavy carbonation. The aroma is caramel, peat, some carob, and pennies. The flavor is earth, peat, lots of sweet caramel, and a little bit of fruitiness. Pretty good beer, but there I just have a hard time getting into it. scrizzz (2223) - Bothell, Washington, USA - JUN 29, 2009
2007. Thanks CSchwaz! Heavily oxidized malt aroma, some raspberry essence. Mousey chestnut. More oxidized malt and brown sugar, to a fault in my opinion. Warms with raw alcohol in the finish.
