Bottle. Golden-amber with no head production besides a few bubbles. Very piney and resinous ipa, quite sweet and candy-like with notes of ginger and with a surprisingly high residual sweetness - an almost syrupy sensation. Medium-full body. This is the first beer I’ve tried from this brewery and the first beer Ive bothered to rate in some time. It raised a lot of questions in my mind - why do brewers/breweries put stuff like this on the market? I mean; it does have some good things going for it (fi. it is not dull, aroma - or flavorless) but like others have pointed out (fiulijn, petermadsen etc.) it is unfinished and something any homebrewer with minimal experience (f.i. me) could do better. As a consumer it offends me because I pay quite large sums for beers like this (danish mircorbrew) and for that reason expect a product that is finished and have the thumbprint of capable hands - not necessarily a beer I like (can’t like them all). This rant goes out to some other new danish micro-breweries as well. I ended up pouring out the last 40cL and opened a 3 year old Achel bruin that had aged very nicely. Thank God for Belgium. Bottle 50cl - shared with Mette. Golden - no head, white edges. Pine, sweetness, straw, thick liquid, bitter, a strange taste. Cactus. Dry. anders37 (27577) - Malmö, SWEDEN - OCT 11, 2006
Bottle. Copper colour with an off-white head. Hoppy malty aroma with some hints of citrus. Malty hoppy bitter citrus flavor. Hoppy finish with a bitter aftertaste. fiulijn (21506) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 26, 2006
Cloudy dark amber color; low carbonation and thin collar of foam. The aroma has some pine resins and herbs. The body is medium thick, with some malt, a lot of soft caramel, bitter but without an interesting quality in the hopping; it has some residual hop resins and butterscotch; the final is not only bitter but also a bit astringent, confirming a rough fermentation and maturation process. Unprofessional. madsberg (11798) - Søborg, DENMARK - SEP 21, 2006
Bottled. Dark golden coloured. Unclear. Small beige and uncharming head. Herbal and citric aroma. Quite soapy as others have pointed out. Flavour is quite harsh and very hoppy. Somer fruity and floweral notes. Ends on a sharp almost unpleasant bitterness. Needs some balance and seems a bit unfinished. bager (2120) - Copenhagen N, DENMARK - SEP 17, 2006
Bottle. Golden almost orange coloured with a small white head. Aroma and flavour very soapy and flowerry. Hoppy and a nice bitterness level. A bit caramel sweet and with notes of pines and maybe ginger.
