22. Pours deep grainy brown, opaque, with a thick, sudsy tan head and some impressive sheets of lace for the style. Nutty, cola-like nose. Soft clean body, light fizzy carb, nuts and caramel and cola notes coming through straightaway. Lovely stuff. I’ve always so enjoyed this beer--especially on draft--but even in the bottle it doesn’t disappoint. riversideAK (6265) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - MAR 14, 2008
Draft at Taphouse grilld. Brownish auburn color. Thin head. Aroma of roasted malt with light sweetness and earthy hops. Enjoyably flavorful. Initial sweet dark malt followed by some roast, perhaps a little smoke, and a great herbal hoppiness that I really liked. Finishes very clean, but does have a pronounced hoppiness. I feel that this one might be a tad under rated. kerenmk (5269) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - APR 14, 2015
Bottle shared at a tasting at Yoav’s place. Thanks Excellent Little Brother for this beer! Dark brown with beige head. Malt and caramel and some raisins aroma. Slightly smoky, bitter and a little dry in the mouth. Medium body, long, bitter and malty finish. Enniskillen (2061) - Bakersfield, California, USA - AUG 14, 2007
Dark brown, light tan head. Aroma is lightly roasty, caramel, light chocolate. Taste is lightly smokey, light chocolate, some roastiness. Nice body. 11026 (1772) - Alabama, USA - JUL 30, 2005
Bottle from DA. Rich, deep brown colore with bits of red. Moderate tan head leaves great lacing. Nicely roasty in aroma. Light in body. Clean, roasted malt flavors with nut and coffee being dominant. A bit drying?? Decent.

UPDATED: DEC 11, 2007 Poured a brown gritty body with a decent medium-sized top of off-white color. Thin mouth feel coincides with a mild grainy sweet malted nose. Finished smooth. Great sessionable dark lager. 3fourths (9358) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - FEB 10, 2011
cola brown. fresh chewy toast and roasted nut nose with mild bready and powedery yeast. medium body up front, thinning finish. low hop flavor and bitterness. malt-forward medium sweetness with medium acid. nutty, toast thin finish. madvike (3302) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 10, 2011
Bottle from brewolf...thanks Michael! - Pours with a creamy tan head on a dark cola body. Dark bready malt on the nose, with light yeast, baking spices, and a pleasant blend of nuttiness and milkiness. Taste is pumpernickel bread--pretty dry with a hint of brown sugar and a pretty milky finish. There’s a sharpness in there too--not sure if that’s the hops or a little roasted malt. Creamy and smooth in the mouth. Didn’t know what to expect, as I know little about this style, but I was pleasantly surprised. maxwelldeux (4433) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - JAN 16, 2014
Bottle. Pours a very dark brown color with a moderate off-white head on it. Nose is toasty and fairly bready. Taste is really quite toasty, but has a nice bit of crispness to it. Decent, but nothing special. kftoone (9) - Michigan, USA - FEB 20, 2012 does not count
very weak palate. Very light in color. aroma is alright but could definitely use work . overall i’m disappointed in it.
