This is totally standard for the style. Fairly drinkable, slightly bitter, some smokiness, just very by-the-book. One good aspect this beer has is the complete lack of a generic lager bite, making it very drinkable, just nothing to write home about. IndianaRed (4610) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JUL 10, 2006
Bottle Pours a very dense, dark brown. Rather thin coarse dark tan head that quickly recedes but maintains a thin cramy ring. Spotty lacing. Woody, smokey aroma. Lots of chocolaty light roasted notes as well. Flavor is heavy on the toasted malts, cocolate and grassy bitter componant.
Slightly bitter astringent trailer. A lager with some backbone.
Interesting, but one is enough. Beerdrinker79 (2188) - Idaho, USA - DEC 3, 2009
22 oz. bottle- Pours almost black with little head, aroma isn’t much, some malt. The flavor is also very malty with a bitter aftertaste, it’s mellow, drinkable and interesting but not great. alexsdad06 (10378) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 17, 2011
22 oz. bottle from trade (I can’t remember who). Pours a clear deep reddish brown with a small off white ring. The aroma had an initial sweet maltiness with touches of dark fruit, light floral and the slightest nuttiness. The flavor is dark fruits, some roasted malt, floral, dusty almost char, and lightly nutty. The finish is dry with a light bitterness. zvsn (2092) - ISRAEL - APR 15, 2015
Bottle sample at a tasting. Thanks kerenmk. Hazy amber-brown with a small beige head. Smell of honey, caramel, brown sugar and dark bread. Moderately sweet, caramel and toasted notes, herbal bitter aftertaste. Light-bodied, dry on palate.

22 oz. Bottle: Dark amber color with a minimal light brown head. Sweet malty aroma of alcohol, roasted nuts with sugar on them and a woody thing going on. Wood and smoke and a deep musty taste along with an earthy notes as well. Thin body with a slight bitterness in the aftertaste. Not bad. Thanks Indiana_Red for sharing this Washington specialty. carruthm (1401) - Seattle, Washington, USA - OCT 4, 2008

V - darkish, medium brown with little head
A - pretty mild, some notes of malt
T - also mild with caramel and malt
P - fine, inoffensive brew but lacking a plus trait
Deep brown beer, no head. Aroma is farily clean. Sweet toast and toffee. Caramelly and well decocted. Flavour is okay, a bit plasticy, but otherwise nicely sweet and toasty. fiulijn (20491) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 8, 2015

Dark brown color with compact head. Dry, roasty, a bit dusty, but also with a touch of chocolate. A bit too dry in the final, almost astringent.
8/07/2010: Roslyn Beer... Aroma: Encouraging... Chocloate; caramelized malts. Appearance: Rich brown color; dark and nearly opaque. Flavor: Caramelized sugars; somewhat watery; dry, roasted malts in the finish. Palate: Medium-light body; a touch thin. Overall: Decent.
