Draught at Café Abseits, Bamberg, Bavaria. Deep golden, small head. Grassy and very dry and fairly light bodied. Intensely hoppy with grass and spices. Long almost resiny bitterness. Dalle (1145) - Skørping, DENMARK - AUG 22, 2006
Draught, cafe abseits, Bamberg. Dark golden with small head. Biscuits, earthy, soft hoppiness, medium body. Interesting. Hildigöltur (5104) - København, DENMARK - JUL 4, 2006
Bottled. Hazy golden coloured. Malty, bready and hoppy aroma and flavour. Full bodied. Soft and well balanced. MoritzF (10068) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - JUN 25, 2006
(swing top bottle) Hazy, yellow colour with a short foamy diminishing white head. Sweet malty, slightly worty, yeasty aroma with faint hints of hops. Sweet flavour, light body, quite low on carbon. Yeasty and wort-malty taste; sweetbitter malty and slightly hoppy finish. Smells and tastes rather unfinished as if it has been bottled too early. Still drinkable Zwickelbier, but unsatisfying. Have to get it on tap at the brew pub next time. MartinT (10037) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 24, 2006

Papsoe (25059) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - FEB 25, 2006
Delicately toasted pils malts, lemongrass angles and suave herbal hops are impeccably interwoven in this über-soft, süffig lager.
Further Personal Perceptions :
-A creamy sheet of foam protects the misty blond.
-The expansive yet soft carbonation is a perfect match for the slender residual sugars.
-Pils malt flavors possess some crunch while never being overwhelming.
-This brew is near perfect as a quencher, even in the bottled version called Urbräu. This rating though is for the tap version called Lagerbier at the brewery. The bottles can be excellent, but the freshest is always the best for these types of subtle lagers.
-If more North American breweries brewed « house blonds » that were this competent, maybe sessionable beers would be taken more seriously over here.
On tap at the brewery gasthof and from bottles.
(Bottle 50 cl) Pilsener golden with a creamy, white head. Fresh, hoppy nose. Rather light-bodied dominated by pilsener malt. Light hoppy finish. Solid craftmanship. 190206 Ungstrup (38242) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - FEB 20, 2006
A pale yellow beer with a nice white head. The aroma has light notes of citrus and malt. The flavor is dry malty with a goo bitter hops, giving it a refreshing citrusy note. But the body is thin. pivnizub (10766) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - JAN 1, 2006
Bottle: Golden coloured, bigger rocky off-white head, slowly diminishing; malt, lemon and herbal hops in the aroma with a tinge of yeast; moderate bitter flavour, quite dry, light to medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel; lingering bitter-aromatic finish. O.K., spicy, tasty.......... JorisPPattyn (10062) - BELGIUM - SEP 19, 2005
Served in Stein ; small, just off-white head. Herbal, slightly earthy nose, faint but inviting malts. Malty flavour, coloured and pale malts alike. Finish more bitter, some bitterhops, but not much. Just "not-light" body, some quite malt induced bite in the MF. Nice Kellerbier - this one was bottled and still very good, standing up to draught ones. rsmeds (228) - Turku, FINLAND - SEP 8, 2005
Bottle. Hazy light yellow. Small, creamy white head. Aroma of hops and fruits. Silky smooth palate. Well-balanced, but rather boring, faintly yeasty flavor of hops and malt.
