COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Wheat is an important and typical flavor carrier in this type of beer. As with all other beers we also work at Rothaus Hefeweizen with a slightly higher original gravity of 12.5%.

In addition to the fine hop bitterness (13 bitter units), Rothaus Hefeweizen is typical of the variety, with another important flavor component, the yeast. In Hefeweizen the yeast is not mixed, but a top-fermenting yeast is used. Unlike our other beers, it comes with unfiltered wheat beer bottling.

Ingredients: water, wheat malt, barley malt, hops, hop extract, yeast.

No detail information about the malts, hops or drinktemperature on the bottle. Cloudy light amber beer with very stable white head, head is very fine, smell is yeasty and overripe fruits, taste is yeasty and light overripe fruits, very, very light banana at the end, good body, good drinkability, perfect for hot days, (I have 0.5l bottle with best-before 05.01.18 and batch 1010203)

Bottle from a local Supermarket. Pours hazy orange. Nose is floral, honey. Palate is sweet hops, some banana, some spicyness. Should be my kind of Weizen, but the hops is a bit weird.

prawlie (1612) - Berkshire, ENGLAND - APR 18, 2017
On tap at Waterloo Tap in London. Banana and bubblegum notes at first, but a well rounded hefe after a few sips. All in all a beer I liked but I couldn’t see myself wanting a session on it.
