COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Wheat is an important and typical flavor carrier in this type of beer. As with all other beers we also work at Rothaus Hefeweizen with a slightly higher original gravity of 12.5%.

In addition to the fine hop bitterness (13 bitter units), Rothaus Hefeweizen is typical of the variety, with another important flavor component, the yeast. In Hefeweizen the yeast is not mixed, but a top-fermenting yeast is used. Unlike our other beers, it comes with unfiltered wheat beer bottling.

Ingredients: water, wheat malt, barley malt, hops, hop extract, yeast.

I bought this beer at the Rewe shop in Freiburg Germany. I drank it at the flat that we rent yesterday. In my point of view, it is a good hefe weizen for the price that you get it. The taste is classical, well balanced, all the qualities that you could expect. The taste is with wheat, good notes of banana, few cloves, some hop, mineral side, a reference for the style.

Bottle, thnx to bartlebier. Pours a light hazy, light golden beer with a firm white head on top. Aroma of vanilla and banana, wheaty notes and overall just your typical hefeweizen looks and smell, which I like. Flavor is soft and sweet, fruity and really easy drinking. No strange things detected here, easy and mellow mouthfeel. Just a nice weizen in my book.

Hazy amber beer, thin white head. Dry, bready banana aroma. Taste is dough, banana, a dash of citrus, a spicy hint to it as well. Lovely.

500ml bottle from Good Spirits Wine & Beer, Glasgow (£3.00):
Quite a nice, well balanced hefe that was pretty fresh & came through with a lot of malts from the start, There was some nice bread flavours with banana, yeast & cloves on top alongside some touches of yeast & background citrus. It was was to drink & enjoyable without being a standout offering or one that I’d go out of my way to hunt down again; I wouldn’t say no to a second either though.
