Wheat is an important and typical flavor carrier in this type of beer. As with all other beers we also work at Rothaus Hefeweizen with a slightly higher original gravity of 12.5%.

In addition to the fine hop bitterness (13 bitter units), Rothaus Hefeweizen is typical of the variety, with another important flavor component, the yeast. In Hefeweizen the yeast is not mixed, but a top-fermenting yeast is used. Unlike our other beers, it comes with unfiltered wheat beer bottling.

Ingredients: water, wheat malt, barley malt, hops, hop extract, yeast.

33 cL bottle. Pours hazy yellow to orange with a huge and white head. Aroma is banana ester fruity. Classic wheaty flavour with a set of esters, mainly banana and yeasty and wheaty notes. Ends mild wheaty and banana fruity.

A hazy orange beer with a disappearing white head. The aroma is wheaty and soapwatery - and so is the flavor. A poor hefeweizen.

[email protected] Horse Parsons Green, London. Hazy orange colour, small creamy white head. Aroma is wheat, yeast, fruits and some slight herbal notes. Flavour is quite much the same in a nice balanced. Served a bit too cold, but turned out really nice as it warmed up a bit.

Bottled. Cloudy mustard yellow. with lively head. Rich banana aroma. Fresh and light bodied, perhaps the mouthfeel is a bit thin/short. Dry banana finish.

Papsoe (25059) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - NOV 16, 2005
(Bottle 50 cl) Typical - not so pleasant - greyish orange appearance with a surprisingly small head. Good, fruity esters and a nice, dry freshness with the standard - almost - absence of bitterness. Above average Hefe. 091202

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein trübes oranges Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch hefig, fruchtig, leicht würzig. Geschmack hefig, fruchtig mit minimaler Bitterkeit.
