22oz bomber pours crystal clear amber with copper hues and supporting a tan head of foam. The aroma is full up sweet smooth bourbon booze and maybe some vanilla and wafer thin like beer dark fruity esters. The taste is similar where I get almost nothing but sweet vanilla and bourbon booze. At least the bourbon booze note is pretty smooth since it is by far the dominant flavor component. What bits of beer I’m getting are well off in the background. The beer notes seem to be cherry and prune with a wafer thin smattering of vague pine like hoppiness. Man, this has had way too much barrel time for my taste. Why craft a beer and then allow it to get smothered by barrel notes? Bottle courtesy of my friend Noel. Amber pour with a short tan head. Aroma is strong vanilla, caramel, bourbon notes and sweet malt. Taste is big vanilla, caramel, toasted coconut, sweet malt and booze. Body is medium with a soft bubbly carbonation. Lots of stickiness and boozy warmth. Pour is a tan with a large tan head. Aroma is of the barrel with some notes of vanilla and bourbon. Flavor is bourbon, a big dose of caramel malt and some whiskey burn of alcohol. Finish leaves some of that burning on the tongue with some almost spicy rye and a warming in the chest. This is all about this bourbon barrel it was aged in. 22 oz bottle. Seems to match the picture for the other Freudian Sip but the 10% listed here is what was on the label. Clear purple brown with a balsa head. Nose is honey, brown sugar, raisin, hay, bourbon and oak. Sticky medium to full body with a tingle. Rose colored hue with a small eggshell cap. Bourbon, hint of wood, loads of vanilla, toffee, caramel, and honey-baked biscuit. Nothing terribly distinguishable and a little thin. The alcohol was noticeable but not overly distracting. The most telling sign: I wouldn’t buy this again. Meh.
