16oz can served in a Prairie teku
A - Pours black as night with a frothy tan head, excellent lacing patterns with ok retention.
S - Nice roasted malts with solid hop aroma, hop oils, cold coffee, earthy.
T - Roasted barley, coffee, some anise, a solid backing of green and citrus hops bring an adjoining bitterness to the roast. Has some salty characters, very savory with smoke and peat moss in the mix. Finishes with a dry roasty bitterness.
M - Silky feel, medium to full body with adequate carbonation, dry roast finish.
A solid stout. Bold flavors with a very nice dry-hopped aroma. This rivals Chocs Winter stout, which i hold in high regard. I’m digging the beers I’ve had from this brewery. Well done Roughtail!

Can poured into a pint glass -- Loads of caramel/brown head to a dark chocolate looking pour. Aroma is roast and sweet. It tastes like a creamy 4% milk stout. Alcohol is hidden extremely well. Impressive the way it drinks. burg326 (5608) - Florida, USA - MAY 16, 2015
Poured a dark brown color with aromas of roast, nuts, light earth, and some hops. Flavors match the aromas with some nice earth, and chocolate, decent amount of hops, just not doing it for me, decent but not the best. TheEpeeist (3709) - Media, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 31, 2015
16 oz can. Dark brown with forced tan suds. Nose is dark chocolate, wet hay, citrus peel and molasses. Medium body with a dull tingle. Taste is espresso, fudge, pine and dark roast.

A cop is sitting in his usual speed trap spot and sees a truck drive by with the back full of penguins. He is understandably perplexed so he pulls the truck over.Tejas (1008) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JAN 21, 2015
"Excuse me sir, but why do you have all those penguins in the back of your truck?"
"I’m sorry officer, but I just don’t know what to do with them!"
Incredulous, the officer responds, "take them to the zoo!"
The driver thanks the officer and drives off. The next day the cop is in the same spot and dang-it-all if that same truck doesn’t drive by again, but this time the penguins are all wearing sunglasses. The frustrated cop again pulls the truck over.
"I thought I told you to take those penguins to the zoo!"
"I did officer, today we’re going to the beach!"
I'm surprised at this rating. I think this is a very good stout that is very drinkable. Either people can't appreciate the dry bitter palate or they're just idiots. djd07 (15547) - Houston, Texas, USA - JAN 11, 2015
Can thanks to Casey. Pours a clear brown with no head. The aroma is chocolate, roast, nuts. Thin mouth with strong roast, dark chocolate, bitter, decent. WillRunForBeer (2766) - Massachusetts, USA - DEC 2, 2014
