Poured into an English pint glass, the appearance was a burnt orange almost copper color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that died off at a nice pace. Subtle lace.
The aroma had some caramel/toffee malts up front playing with some sweet biscuit notes and then a blended spicy to earthy to grassy hop character in the background.
The flavor mainly stays with the sweet malty side somewhat flowing on into the aftertaste and right on into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a great sessionability about it. Soft carbonation. ABV felt right on as to where the brewer projected.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Very high carbonation upon opening. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy deep orange/copper color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Dense foamy lacing clings around the glass, with a large amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of caramel, toast, brown bread, pear, apple, herbal, grass, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Okay aromas with solid balance and complexity of dark/bready malt, earthy hop, and fruity yeast ester notes; with decent strength. A bit too fruity, but has some solid malt presence. Taste of caramel, toast, toffee, brown bread, light nuttiness, herbal, grass, light pear/apple, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Fair amount of earthy herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toast, toffee, brown bread, light nuttiness, herbal, grass, light pear/apple, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and robustness of dark/bready malt, earthy hop, and yeast ester flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. I swirled out most of the overcarbonation; which lead to a medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.8%. Overall this is a very solid English bitter style. All around good balance and robustness of dark/bready malt, earthy hops, and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. Bottle: The aroma consists of light caramel and some faint toasty herbal notes. It pours a mostly transparent amber with a touch of haze. It has a two finger off-white head that quickly settles in to a soapy film outlined by a slightly thicker ring. There is some sporadic webbing left on the sides of the glass. Tap and Growler: Clean glowing light amber hue with a fading frothy head and spotty lace upon the pint glass. The aroma has notes of grassy and herbal hops, some apple and pear esters, biscuit, crystal and slight butterscotch vapours, hint of mineral water too. The taste displays a light to moderate bitterness over a layer of base and sweet malts with a hint of earthiness and slight fruitiness. Pretty one dimensional and straight forward but clean enough to be quaffable. A nice enough bitter that would be best served on a handpull.

Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Clear amber/brown brew with two fingers of fairly dense head. A small measure of sediment at the bottom of the bottle. Light aroma of caramel malt and a little toast. Taste is caramel at the start with a little nuttiness emerging towards the finish and finally a slight bit of hops to slake the sweet malts at the very end. Overall light in body and easy to drink. Pours a hazy rust color with about a finger worth of rocky beige head that settles to a ring and leaves some soapy lace behind. Nose involves mostly caramel, some cellar notes, herbal tea hops, and date bread. Some sweetness but more bitterness and a light tartness.
